i would pull my chain out of my back pocket and beat the living crap out of him....
seriously, thats bullcrap... if some-one did that to my girlfriend, my mum, one of my sisters, or any friend or relative of mine, i would hunt them down and make them pay.
i cannot stand watching women get hit.

One of the coppers even said I should of given him a few more. But im glad I didnt my hand is hurting enough after 1 hit.
stiddy your a good bloke, good on you.
i think you did enough to stop them, if you go over the top you'll pay for it (sounds hipocritical ay?)

Keep ya wrist straight when you smack em! :P

Good on ya though mate. Make sure you don't get into anything sticky later on with the fella though. I stuck up for a gal earlier this year with a bit of scuffling involved and the guy came back with around 10 of his mates, surrounded my car while I was in it (and put cases of beer on the bonnet!) and tried to pull me out till I moved on. Weak though, a lot of people want to sort him out, including the cops for drugs and things!

I wouldn't worry about the charges, I don't think they'll stick..

I've been in a similar situation before, no chicks involved but someone that need a little lesson in respect. I dragged his sorry a5s to the cop shop and the first thing I said was he hit me first. He actually got charger with assulting me and damaging property.

i know what i would have done.
unfortunately though, as a mate found out, its better to turn around and mind your own business.
he was in Melbourne a few years ago, when a woman ran out of a club onto the road trying to get away from some guy. the guy got her and cained the crap out her, so my mate goes over to break it up and belts this guy one fair in the mouth breaking his jaw.
all he was trying to do was help this woman and stop this knobhead from killing her.
anyway, the guy laid charges and my mate spent 3 months at Barwon for it.
the Judge also told him that if he appeals the sentence he would get 2 years instead if he lost.
aint Justice grand.

So you hit him hard enough to knock him out for 5 minutes and give him concusion and your surprised your up on an assualt charge?

You don't think that perhaps you may have used excessive force?

Did the guy you king hit end up in hospital?

My brother-in-law defended his lippy girlfriend last year to some guys shouting at her outise a pub and ended up getting up getting bashed senseless by three guys. He got kicked in the head multiple times, spend five days in hospital and has now got permanent eye and facial nerve damage a result. Doc's can't repair the damage. They went nuts on him....

I know I'm about get flamed for having a slightly different take on this but I think king hitting someone is poor. You obviously know your capabilities and didn't shy away from the fight.

Good on you for stepping in but shame on you for king hitting someone first instead of just telling him to back off and eff off or ELSE you would dish it out.

In the end the law will give you a slap on the wrist anyway....

3 on 1 and they had physically attacked a female, I doubt you've got anything to worry about. Score one for the good guys.

Considering he was up against 3 guys, if you're going to interviene, you have to make sure the remaining 2 don't want to take you on. Saying back off or else and he would have been taking 3 guys front on all at once.

Good on ya Stiddy you did the right thing.

As for him trying to have you charged don't worry about it, I'm a Security Guard so I know what you can and can't do.
The law states that any person is allowed to defend another if they cannot defend themselves as long as you do not use excessive force (basically as long as you don't use a weapon or kick them whilst they are down you are fine). By dropping the fool with one punch and then leaving and helping the girl back to the club there will be no legal issues for you whatsoever. Also the fact that she is having him charged helps greatly as it shows that there was an assault already taking place.

If you want any more info send me a PM.

Good on you for rendering assistance, but king hitting someone is just as bad as the first offence. Just ask David Hookes family.

Nice work - Some Blokes would just turn a blind eye - I would be outraged if i saw anything like that-

Also if for some retarded reason you do get a charge - Just think would you do it again?

I would think Yes

Good onya mate, you're a bloody champion. The world needs more people who are willing to stand up for others.

And as for those saying that he did the wrong thing, grow up and use some common sense. He didn't kill the guy, and obviously didnt continue the intervention. He put the guy down, left, and took care of the girl. Problem solved.

Im guessing your experience in this area is rather small. When facing multiple potential assailants, you dont screw around and do things by the Queensbury Rules. You remove the largest threat, as quickly as possible, using the best means possible, and then move onto the next largest threat. If it doesnt present, you remove the victim from the situation asap while ensuring noone goes for your back.

A person being knocked out IS NOT an indicator of force. Regardless of time spent staring at the sky. Depending on where you hit a person, and wether they have a glass jaw, or are already intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, will most often determine how long said nasty will spend on the carpet sucking down teeth fragments.

Mortal Combat /= Reality.

You have done the right thing there I never liked bullies. Hopefully the police will tell him how stupid he looks charging someone with assault who is defending a person being attacked . If you have the girl backing you up and witnesses you should be sweet.

well done mate.. I'm glad there are still a few decent blokes out there standing up for what is right.

You'll probably cop a fine but nothing worse (I'll be surprised if you get that). I have had a few charges laid on me all dropped, for reasons I won't be discussing but because I do martial arts I get the law fully forced on me and cop it worse than any average Joe would.

But IMO you did the right thing and you should feel good that you made a difference to that poor girl, I'm sure she is glad that you were there for her as well.

i like the way you think. i could'nt have said it better myself. i always found working pubs (years ago) finish it before it starts and there's less chance you end up being the one on the ground bleeding.

yeah, This happened to a guy I Know, Some chick was being harassed at a party buy some XXXX and nobody would step up, So this guy i know ended up going over and trying to brake it up, and ended up getting hit by the aggressor, So he slogs him back and drops him, then before he knows what's going on 3 of this Tosses mates jumped him, he took a base ball bat to the head and now has minor brain damage and is almost blind in his left eye because he help some chick he didn't even know.

He doesn't really talk about it either, i found out as he was talking to me about one of his chargers, and asked him how offen he drives it, Then he said I don't, I am never allowed to drive agane, then he told me what happened.

I was shocked.

OK for the record, I didnt think I really hit him all that hard.. fair enough I hit him hard probably too hard but it did the trick, and its the first time in a long time ive actually thrown a punch.
Im 6'5 and close to the 115ish Kg, did boxing for 2 years, plus football..
As for the girl, I will be seeing her this saturday actually... nothing like what you are thinking, just to see how she's doing. lol
I got a phone call from the police this morning pretty much telling me that they had a talk with this idiot and he's decided to drop the charges because it really wasnt looking good for him and that if he decided to proceed with the charge the police have to follow through with it and that they will be backing me up in court along side the girl.
They issued me with a formal caution/warning (basically no 2nd chance if I end up in a fight again) and also told me not to go around hitting people because one day they might not get up lol.
So i am in the clear

No doubt I would intervene. You just got to remember the difference between reasonable and excessive force. Just because they got knocked out doesn't mean it was excessive either.

Sometimes that's the only way it can be done. Believe me I know from experience with crazy people. My brother is one!

I very much doubt the charges would have stuck especially if you had the cops on your side.
