"I hope that this incident will draw attention to failings that have allowed such a young girl to go on a night out, get drunk, get pregnant, yet seemingly be ignorant about the risks and consequences."

A Catholic Church spokesman criticised "an increasingly promiscuous culture".

what failings? society? her mother? schools?

most posts remind us that our parents would have had control over us at 11 yrs old. but once again we see the blame being shifted, it was not the girls fault (probably not the boys either), but societies!
I don't want to hijack this thread, but once again we are all surprised at the shift in attitude.

Not good. The party of 11-15 year olds drinking, smoking and having sex is also pretty disturbing.

Ok that fare enough. I think most of us bloke know when we were capable. BUT I never new that a girl at the age of 11 could fall pregnant. Question: From what age is pregnancy possible for a girl.

For the record. I thing this is bloody sick. the girls mother should be hung out to dry. She is a complete failure of a mother. She let her daughter start smoking at 9, drinking a 10, pregnant at 11, mother at 12, how could you let your child get so out of control at such a young age. The girls mother is obviously a "gutter trash pub slut" with no real morals for her life or her daughters life..... I feel for the little bub that is about the be born in to a family that are a bunch of social rejects....

This would have to be one of the saddest stories I can remember. A child having a child. What kind of life can either of them expect? Alcohol abuse, lack of education etc etc. And so the cycle continues through the generations.

Isn't it around the time they get their first period? Which varies a bit depending on the individual.

Either way, this girl's mother needs to be sat down and given a darn good talking to....again!

The youngest mother was either 8 or 9, she was part of an African tribe.

Troppo you are correct .......

These stories horrify me as a mother of a 14yr old girl. At least I know I am trying to teach my girl right from wrong ...... It seems that this other mother (term used loosely) has no idea at all........

I know girls can be hormonal & some do try to run the gauntlet as far as being disiplined, I know mine does ....... but god help her and any boy should anything like that happen ............. I know she knows this too ......... We can only hope we have taught them enough about self respect and hope that this never happens......

Well, well ,well in places like India and Pakistan it is common place....however in this case I believe that the girl her mother/father and the father of her child should be eliminated from the gene pool.

WE do not need this endless drain on societies reserves...Yea I know I'm a dictator, but just think if we got rid of these scum sucking bottom dwellers how much better off we as a society would be!!!!!!

You have just been added to my list of those who need chlorinating...its obviouse from your post you did'nt get past pre-school.

When you learn how to use english as it should be used....without your grammatical, spelling and sentence construction errors.

Then...maybe I'll take you off the list.....but I doubt that will happen.

This 15 year old boy would have been in year 8-9, but she would have been in year 5-6. No one is that drunk to make a mistake that big....

where do you begin? Smoking, drinking, sex, pregnant... all at 11? Gezzz, I know some girls 19 that have not even done one of those things yet...

A few weeks ago, I did a poll on teen pregnancy, but she isnt even a teen yet!!!!
