I don't give a rats whether the million plus people a year who buy new cars can afford it.
Its means there are more 2 to 3 y/o cars for me to choose from at half the new price.

Don't underestimate young adults living at home with parents.

100% disposable income and save like a champion if they sit at home and smash out Xbox 24/7 instead of partying and drinking like the rest.

If I had an 'entry level' job that paid $60K/year id be driving around in an R35 GTR by now

Have lunch with him and ask him.

On the flip side, if there were a few thousand a month more like him then Holden and Ford wouldn't be closing down manufacturing here, and we'd have a future supply of awesome Aussie cars to have fun with.

I reckon the ****** on this website being all up in arms about everyone else's business is trying to be bigger then he is.
Who is responsible for Hulk to have had his ban lifted again? Does he have a financial interest in this forum or threaten legal action each time he is banned?
To keep letting this poor excuse for a human back on is making a joke of the warning system. How can you expect people to behave when Hulk's efforts set the yardstick?

Seriously Hulk the best part of you come out on the tip of your Mums next customer.....................

When I started work (back in the early 70s) I was on $52 a f/n in as an apprentice. I looked around and ending up buying a base model 1300 Escort (brand new) for around $2200. The repayments were around $50 a month.
It was an experience I have never repeated.

Might be a good move by the young bloke if he's a car nut?
Back in my early 20's, If I had of bought a brand new Phase3 ($5000) instead of tipping tens of thousands into modding cars and bikes, I would've been miles better off financially... (Wouldn't have had a 1/10 of the fun or experience though!)

LOl, say what you like about Hulks threads, but atleast he gets people talking, even if it is **** talk.
Right now there are only about 8 threads in the Pub that are being actively posted in and this thread is outpacing all of them.

And as i referred to in my thread in the site support section, the Forum has never been so quiet for the Mods as it is right now, so i dont think he's necessarily lowering the standards at all.

Controversial, but harmless all the same.

I love ya Hulk, but in saying that, most people hate me, so i dont know where that leaves you really....****, now i've confused myself, pass the pipe Bro.

That's probably half the reason his ban was lifted for the 6th time in the first place. Some people thrive on the drama and perhaps it gets the visit meter ticking over nicely when his threads cause controversy?

I've got to admit I was thinking about this the other day, I drive $10-$20K cars as daily myself and I'mam due for an update in the next 6-12 months. I thought hey I should buy a nice car ($50-$60K) and realised that don't get you much.

Next logical thought is how are dudes buying (read financing) 70-100K HSVs, FPVs, Euro SUVs. I pay cash, surely people arn't dropping $100K cash on a car?

I just cant justify that type of expenditure on a car...just buy another property instead.

Oh well I'll jut buy a low km XR6T for $20K to play dodgem car in Sydney traffic and be laughed at as a bottom feeder.

If you've been on the forums for less than 3 years and you have more than 1500 posts then you are spending too much % of your time posting which means you are posting beyond your means.
The post barometer of over 2.7 posts per day would suggest that it's way over the public acceptance level and as such should be more like 1 post per couple of days.

What's the maximum % of a day's post value to annual posting that's acceptable before it's posting beyond your means / showing off?........

I reckon there'd be quite a few people who could drop 100k cash on a car. I only wish I was one of them.

My current car was from an insurance payout, and I did consider getting a bit of extra cash in a loan to get something nicer, in the end I figured i'd rather not be paying out any extra money.

At this point I think the only way I'd do it is salary packaging, but I'm content with this car for now. Maybe when second hand mustangs flood the market...

You are projecting. That is how you feel and how you act.

You are very insecure and spend most of your time thinking about what others think.

Car enthusiasts on the other hand dont give a hoot what others think. They love what they love and spend way too much money on cars cause it makes them happy.

That is why you really don't fit in here.

We love cars

You do not

I did some sums in my head and the value of that car is almost twice his annual income. I'm thinking to myself he is trying to be bigger than be really is. Living beyond his means.

My barometer is if you drive a car that is valued more than 50% of your annual income your living beyond your means.

What's the maximum % of a cars value to annual income that's acceptable before it's living beyond your means / showing off?

To me that guy from my work should be driving a $15,000-30,000 car (maximum) to be living appropriately within his means.

Is your % appropriate? What is the right %?

If I could do it and wanted to do it I would but there's a bit more I'd rather do with my $ than put in into a car as much as I love cars.
