Going my some of the reactions here, sounds like must see viewing!

Last decent horror movies i saw (a bit lacking in gore) were house of 1000 corpses and to a lesser extent the devils rejects (sequel). Perfect match of suspense, needless violence and guys in clown costumes! And his wife is hot...

Thanks for the tip tho guys, will go see this ASAP!
Come on man Captain Spalding was funny as!!! And as for Hostel, I loved it, I must say after watching it I was not to keen on going backpacking through Eastern Europe anytime soon...

Went and saw it the other night. I didnt know how I would react to it, I definatley thought it was going to be a lot worse. I had to sit up a few times, but I really enjoyed it. I was waiting for the guy to run over those freaky kids for stealing his phone! Geeez they really made a mess of the guys chasing him (and their car).

Did you see anyone walk out of the theatre when you guys went to see it? 4 people walked out during our showing, and there were only about 20 people in there.

I just watched it, after reading the reviews here i was looking forward to it, unfortunatley it was weak as ИИИИ, i expected much more, it is one of Tarantino's more average efforts.

Yeah I saw Hostel the other day too.

Must say this is a waste of money.
The first half of the movie is just a titty fest. If I wanted to see porn I wouldve stayed at home.
The second half of the movie starts to get interesting but dies to quickly because theres just not enough story and the gore scenes are weak sauce plus they only account for less than 10% of the actual movie.

If you are going to see this movie and expect an R rated version of Saw then you will be sorely disappointed.
Better to wait for this to come onto DVD and give it a rent its certainly not worth watching on the big screen.
ИИИИ poor attempt by Tarantino.

I am a fairly critical movie reviewer though so dont take my words to heart, you may enjoy this movie.
In my opinion though it was average at best.

Sorry to dissapoint but its not a Tarantino movie.... just "presented" by him. The film just has his backing and likes it. its acually a Eli Roth film, who also did Cabin Fever.

bring on the gore....
Another newish film in the vein of said movies worth checking out is The Devil's Rejects. It's part 2 of the Killer Rob Zombie debut feature, House of 1000 Corpses. Once again he has managed to combine a perfect balance of gore, dark humour & sadomasochism!

Cube 2 did suck balls. The first one was good. I had heard a third was (or was considered) to be in production.

Devil's Rejects is definately the better of the two. The first movie just made you feel bad for the people getting killed as they just had no chance.

While Hostel was ok(the gore was good :nutsycuck ), I'd seriously recommend the director's (Eli Roth) first movie "Cabin Fever". IMO it's one of the better horror movies that has come out these days.

Anyone else looking to get a good blood content should check out Brain Dead (peter jackson movie i think). Its not overly scary but it ends in a bloodbath and has zombies having sex. Great stuff. Anyone who listens to Bloodduster (death metal band) will recognise a few samples from the movie.

im surprised at how many people on here thought the movie was good!

McobraR. im with you mate - i went to see it with Ignition and we were both disgusted - it was some ИИИИed up ИИИИ.

i dont mind seeing people get the snot bashed out of them (ie, vin diesel beating that guy to death against the side of a car in "a man apart" - that was awesome!) but i cant watch torture - all i can picture in my mind is myself in that position, shackled and helpless while some sick ИИИИ drives a 10mm drill bit through my thighs and chest and enjoys it...

imagine your last dying moment being one of incredible pain, terror, anguish, frustration and lonelieness, thousands of kilometers from family and friends, at the hands of someone you dont even know...

there are places in the world where that ИИИИ actually happens, and it sickens me to think that humans can actually dream that ИИИИ up, and be allowed to show it to others - how many psycho motherИИИИers went to that movie and took notes do you think?

violence = hell yeah

torture has no place in our society, weither in real life, books or film - its just wrong.

You know during movies like that... when a torture scene is on... I always hope for the place to get stormed by some kind of elite military guys to save the people...

I like action movies. Guns, shooting, military stuff, mafia movies etc. I hate horror/torture gore crap. I only went to see Hostel because a mate wanted to.

Ok I just came back from watching Hostel. All I can say is IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO SEE HEAPS OF DISTURBING IMAGES, THEN DON’T WATCH IT!. That movie made stomach/chest contract (like vomiting except nothing comin out) TWICE. One of my mates after seeing one of the images just couldn’t take it and had to sit up abit. The first half of the movie is good….close to porn if you ask me… If Tarantino cut the last half out, then that definitely would’ve been a good movie, but once the disturbing stuff kicks in, man, you’re left leaving the cinema in a totally opposite way as when the film started. A very disturbing film indeed

shock gosh gasp
