Well after 3 hours in it is good. I still have not been able to figure out how to capture people alive (wanted people). I shoot them in the legs and they fall to the floor, but they give me no choice than to kill them as they keep shooting at me. I would have liked to pick up prostitutes, this is not because I like the whole idea of it, but I am a believer that if they are in a game like this then they should be able to be interacted with. So far in the game I have chosen the honorable path, every now and then I stray and rob the bank or something similar. All in all it is a good game so far and it is huge, plus nothing more fun than killing and skinning the wildlife. I am interested to see how online is.

A shame, but also understandable, as you know it WILL be coming to PC at some stage. Like the two "expansions" just released for GTA4, and I use the term "expansions" lightly as you can play them without GTA4.

My PC is in no way a top of the line rig, it was built with gaming in mind, but also on a tight budget. It plays most things I throw at it just fine. And it has an XBox 360 controller straight into a USB port. Surely it can't be that hard to code a game for both XBox and PC.

Anyway, sorry bout the thread hijack. Back on main topic. Damn that game looks awesome.
It also has something to do with piracy on the PC.. they figure consoles are harder to pirate (ps3 anyways) (xbox360 is easy to pirate from what I've heard) so they only put them out exclusively for consoles.

We will probably have to wait a year for RDD.... load of crap in my books.

Using what weapon?

I've subdued a couple using a pistol in the kneecap or shooting the gun out of the hand and punched them. Not much success on capturing bounties alive. I think the second bounty I was given, I had 2 more gangs chase after me so collected 3 bounties in 1. :P

A few missions in with Bonnie and you get a lasso. I suspect this will make it easier to capture suspects.

I have Saints Row 2 installed, I've just yet to play it. (was part of a specials pack on Steam)

I guess it comes down to personal preference. I'm finding that the missions are a lot more varied and just riding around the landscape is magnificent. Having a shootout with a posse riding into town with a guy hogtied behind a horse was hilarious. Following the dog around at night looking for trouble was cute and the varied things you run into while riding from town to town keeps you interested - unlike GTA4 where nothing ever really happened on the way to your destination.

Gathering the flowers for the old dude was annoying - and the completion creepy..

So is the game worth spending $108 on?

It does look great but that is a lot of money for a game i might get sick of in a couple of days like GTA4

I was dissapointed wih GTA IV compared to SA, it was too small I might pick this up, it looks good especially if you say its much bigger than SA.

Serious? The GTAIV engine has basically killed the GTAIII series for me.

I would happily get Red Dead Redemption if it were available for PC. Looks like my style of game.

How is everyone finding the free roam?

I find myself on a free roam map with no people and have to go to "Change Free roam" a few times then i'll end up somewhere with 6-8 people an be a little frustrating.

The re-spawn spot can be to close to those around you, for example when a group of 4 takes pleasure in killing you within 10seconds of your re-spawn for around half an hour.. got a little tiring, untill i finally managed to turn the tables.

The story was good, but it was too short length wise, also I didn't like how they took out modifying cars.

Modifying cars...it was fun, but it was hardly necessary really considering you really could not store many cars on GTAIV.

They moved away from the car modding 'gansta' crap to more an 'everyday' city such as NYC as a setting.

Really good so far. And to give GTA4 some credit, it's been 2 years since it came out.

But I think, RDR is the better game, even with that said.

Well I returned my copy for a full refund. I just can't get into it. After nearly 15hrs of play I still didn't enjoy it as much as GTAIV. That said I am still playing GTAIV as I have not completed it even though I bought it launch.

Pfft...in the equivalent of NYC, there is only one major airport, and light craft do not really hang about there.

GTAIV has what it needs.
If you want to fly a plane, either get a pilot's license, or buy a flight simulator

Im going to pick it up but the local EB will have it at $110 or something stupid. They will price match but only if I know how much its selling elsewhere for.

All I can say is that EB market as 'ThE Best Prices', but that's a load of crap.

For PC, I buy off Steam when I can. Cheaper.
There are many other sites for PC games like Gamezoo and the like...
