Or maybe they too emailed the manufacturer of a 30 + year old transmission asking for oil recommendations and got a different answer.
A 2010 FG is not 30 + year old and I am sure there were many revisions to the transmission over the design's life in addition those already detailed in the August 1994 BTR document I linked.

BTW if anyone is interested Supercheap say while there is none in WA they still have some 4 Litre packs in some of their NT and SA stores. Autobarn stores WA also have lots of 1 Litre packs.

Yeah I've recently serviced 2 of my AU falcons, and managed to find the last bottle or 2 of TQ95...
Having looked around, it seems the answer is going to be using Dex3 with Lubegaurd, or some other brand...

Now, interestingly it seems Hitec oils do a oil for the BTR...

https://hi-tecoils.com.au/product/atf-type95/

But it seems that you need to buy from a dealer, not a retail outlet..

Has anyone had any luck with Hitec?

Re Hi Tec oil the response I got from the local agent for Hi-Tec Oils, GOODCHILD ENTERPRISES T: 08 94177033 F 08 94175933 was

Quote:
We have never stocked this oil, I spoke to our supplier, it is a made to order product that they do not carry as a
standard item, it would be ex East with a 10-14 day lead time, Thanks.

ATF 95 5L $48+GST ea
ATF 95 20L $165+GST ea

Perhaps Dextron Plus Lubegard if you are a sceptic. Price for 20L is good though.

I sent a question on this to Unique Cars Magazine tech section and they gave me the Penrite oil sector option. No more TQ95 is a pain in the backside if you just want to top up as mixing fluids is against recommendations.

hi
Many transmissions have dedicated fluids . Most trans changed fluids in the design stage or very early usage . Most were concerned with gear shifting harshness or slipping and effects on durability .
Shift characteristics can be influenced by valve body and clutch material .
In 80`s thru 90`s specific fluids were used to fix issues even on car of the year. Donot believe for a moment car makers will notcheap out there own vehicles .
Ever seen FULL SIZE Sims waste bins full of transmissions I have .
Oh yea there are /have been factory w/shops doing warranty exchange units
That trans was using Castrol
Factory filled fluid
warranty fluid
Public released fluid
