At a guess, BA GT struts would be stronger to hold up the ironing board - and those might be the ones you'd want if you have heavy insulation etc. I know for a fact that older Commodores got upgraded boot struts with the spoiler option.

Doesn't LPG have a one-way-flow valve as a safety measure?

So the fact that they will be in sealed boxes vented externally, as well as the fact that the lpg valves etc are also externally vented isn't enough to prevent that accident???

Anyways as for the progress, seem to be coming down with the flu, so there might not be an update for a few days :( (everytime i'm motivated to do something i will fall sick : )

Don't bother with BA boot struts. They are half the length and not nearly as strong, mainly because the BA bootlid is so much lighter. The bootlid arms don't protrude into the boot itself, they sit on the boot sill. Stick with originals, or talk to an aftermarket place that reconditions them, you might be able to get struts with the same length but a bigger bore.

Looking good Steve!

Lpg is actaully a lot safer then what petrol is. the tanks and one way valves in them, and also a electrical lock off in them, in which case if there is a fire and burnes the wire and then it locks off the gas, and if it does burn, its only venting gas that gets burnt, and doesn't explode.

A few more pics of the amp racks up close. The big one will have four fans installed, two on either side to get some air flow happening to the amps. The two on the sides will also have two fans each. The inside of the racks will be covered in woodgrain adhesive and lit up with either blue or white led's (leaning towards white as the woodgrain will show alot better at night)

The racks will also be hinged so they can fold over and access to the back of the tailights will be easy rather than having to remove half the install. There will also be a perspex window on the back wall to show the capacitor and fuse holders/distro blocks etc...

Looks good steven, if it's half as good as the RF install you did it will look great heh. OT are you going to be retaining EA tailights after it's sprayed ?

May not look as flashy, but alot more planning and thought is being put into it. Hard to compare it with the last one as paint will always look more impressive than vinyl, but the whole idea is to make it look alot neater and classier, which is easier to achieve with vinyl. Plus the boot is still going to be useable, which is a big no no if the panels are painted...

As for the tailights, yes i will be retaining the EA ones, IMO they look better than the EB-ED ones (but that's just my opinion). I would have kept the ford badge on the bonnet aswell, but just wouldn't look right with the bonnet as it is now...

Certainly is comming along

reminds me of when I made mine the other month. hehe I should actually get around to finishing the bootlid piece

Are you going to be making a pannel that is openable to gain access to the LPG shutoff valve?

Oh and what kind of cabling is going to be powering this system

The whole back panel will fold down over the floor to gain access to the gas tank and batteries. It will also be carpeted on the back so that use the boot if need be.

As for cabling, it's using 0 gauge power cable (if that's what you meant).

Very nice. Least if you break down you could always get towed with the 0 gauge lol (lame joke)

What kind of dB are you expecting from this?
