I think from memory the thread was titled "things people try to claim on warranty" or similar.

Moved: the things some ppl will try and claim under warranty

Hi All,

I am Pennybrains partner - I am guilty of destroying the clutch. Not sure how it happened exactly, but i did give it quite a flogging. Since owning the car the clutch had always slipped and i suspected the previous owner wasnt light on it either. I suppose it gave up ...but in a big way. Very glad it didnt come through the floor as someone else has said.

On the warrenty issue we did not try to claim the blown clutch under warrenty!! We knew very well it wouldnt be covered. I did ask if 'any' of the work would be covered under warrenty after we were quoted over $4000 to fix it, but got laughed at by the service manager - i didnt argue with him. I was shocked at the price though.

As pennybrain has said we got the work done elsewhere and now have a much better clutch than what the dealership would have installed.

The dealership service center we are referring to has a shocking reputation and im sure alot of you canberra people will know who we are talking about. The few issues pennybrain has mentioned is only the tip of the iceburg of what dramas we have had with this place.

We are both big Ford fans, but i dont think we will ever buy a new Ford with warrenty ever again. Ford needs to do something about its after sales support or at least needs to lean on its dealership workshops to do a much better job. The service manager has literally no idea at this dealership and his workers are most certainly incompetent and bodgee little shits with no respect at all. It is true that each time our car has gone into this place it has come out worse than it went in, every time. Never again is to going back there...

Yea it would be great to get the other thread re-opened. I am pretty sure someone from the dealership would have posted the pictures on here. Is that legal??
