Just about every plasma panel manufactured in the last 5 years will give a life of a min of about 15000 hours.

If you were to purchase a plasma tv for say $2500 and it pack in after about 15 months, then dont you think you would have a case for the office of fair trading.

I have seen many LCD, PLasma and CRT tv's pack in between 1 and 36 months.

What we DONT hear, is the amount of people out there who are happy with their plasma tv.

We sell approx 25 plasmas a week and hear about a problem maybe once a month. So this is 1 in 100 plasmas that "MAYBE" develop a problem, ,and out of these that pack in , , about 90% of them are chinese panels.

So those who are happy with your plasma, why not say YES, WE LIKE PLASMA.

I have had a panasonic for about 2 years, and LOVE IT.

My brother has had a panasonic for about 3 years and LOVES it.

My brother in law has an LG and LOVES IT.

My parents have had a panasonic for about 2 years and they LOVE IT.

Our neighbours have got a pioneer 50" and LOVE IT.

Mate of mine has a cheap chinese 42" for $1499 and he LOVES IT.

Guys at work have 1. LG 2. Pana HD, 3, NEC, and they LOVE EM.

SO lets all think of the amount of people out there who like their plasma tv, and stop jumping on the bandwagon when we hear of ONE faulty one.

otherwise , , sit there , , shut up and watch your old 68cm curved screen CRT.

Have to agree here..
After checking them all out and getting some great advice from AC/DC on here. I bought an LG 42 inch with the HD built in and couldnt be happier!!! Saying that, Its only 6 months old, so ofcourse it should be... but so far so good..
But anyway, there is a LCD vs Plasma thread on here somwhere.. so the posts for and against should probably not continue on this one.. its not helping the poor guy thats been duded 1 month out of warranty.. he just needs any advice on getting it fixed.
Sorry to hear mate... that was my big worry in spending that much on a tv and having that happen just out of warranty.. i hope you get in fixed up.

lol. there is a simpler wa to do things hehehehe,......buy a 3 - 4 grand projector. screen will be 100......then you can do a couple of things. once the projector is setup......buy a TV tuner card for your PC like i have done, or but one for your laptop, or do as im going to do. buy the Mac mini and the tv tuner extension which is fully compatible with the MAC media centre software and have 1 remote control that will literally control everything. and its cheaper than buying the stupid MDEIA CENTER from windows = major rip off lol...

not to mention the benifits of the projector is a) HUGE SCREEN b) when the picture dies/bulb buy a new one they are only 300 and you get sumthing like 2000 - 3000 hours of viewing time out of them. and as long as you treat the projector correctly it will last a fair amount of time.....

That's quite neat. Maybe I could do that with my widescreen, will have to check how much space on the front porch I will lose.

Why are you so eager to acuse soo many here of being a fool?? People are simply relaying their experiences. There are not too many that reckon that plasma televisions are the bees knees...... personally I think that there are fewer fools here than you think.....

Yep....thats exactly what I'm doing, "and a damn fine picture it is too"

At least I know I'll be able to watch the first Ashes test tomorrow and the good old CRT TV will actually be able to "keep up with the play" and not be 5 frames behind the pace......
