Fair enough. Explains a lot. I didn't think they were taxis because the paint was too bright. Taxi yellow is quite dull.

pEtE beat me to it - I was just going to point out at least one of those cars are parked where they belong...in the handicap parking spots

And 'dosing' is probably the gayest name for the gayest thing ever invented and anyone that even remotely thinks dosing is cool should have a functioning BOV recirc pipe shoved down their throat at full boost, then snap the throttle shut and pop their lungs.

Total Gayness.

compressor surge - what BOVs were specifically designed to prevent.

Normally, air flows in the turbo, gets compressed, flows through the pipework then into the motor, where it gets burnt and expelled. When you close the throttle the turbo is still spinning and forcing air into the piping. The pressure in the piping then rises rapidly.

If the car has a BOV, the BOV opens and lets the air out, allowing the turbo to keep spinning, so lag time in between gear changes etc is reduced. If it is a gay fully sick dose-spec VL POS the pressure in the intercooler pipes rises and either blows a cooler pipe off, or forces its way back through the spinning impellor of the turbo, putting large side loads on the turbo bearings and slowing it rapidly.

The noise created by the air forcing its way back through the turbo is what they call 'dosing' and its basically a sure sign the owner doesn't know jack about the principles of the operation of a turbocharger.

It's the stereotype that helped build them up to what they are today I reckon, that and the dosing as well. Maybe the XR6T's will get a similar cult happening in 20 years time? Either way, I know if I had one... I'd be proud of it.

i have nothing against VL's, i was going to buy one when i was younger.. Calais 5.0 a friend of mine was selling.. they're nice enough cars, pretty quick too. Have to say it's not easy on the eye though, all those canary yellow machines. Trying to work out if that shot was taken at the top of Mt Dandenong, or Arthurs Seat (down the peninsular), i'm leaning toward Mt Dandenong, looking at the two level car park.

they have a few youtube vids up in that thread too - also i feel like i've lost some points of IQ after reading 4 pages of their crap.

"It was a sick cruise, alot of good skids aswell!!!!!!!" <-- LOL !!

It was at Sky High, as for doseing, you either love it or you hate it. If only the interior was alot better they would have been fairly cool cars to have. Maybe oneday i'll own one

AMEN!

"Dosing" AKA, enjoying homosexual activities with underage minors

ranks up there with eating concrete or shaving down there with chainsaw as one of the greatest achievements of the BT1 owner (Mulletous Oilyous)
