And I said he sold his for $5k "for example"- add another $1k to that and you will have a "as you say" decent EL V8 Ghia......

Also I thought we were comparing it against a 1992 EBII Ghia from Car City with 220020klms on it and for $5,999

Yeah sure there are lot of EL V8 Ghias around at "asking price" of more than $6k but thats asking price

2 months ago there was a mint EL V8 Ghia Resprayed with Simmons, low klms, and sunoof and he only got $7,500

But as I said we are comparing like for like EL V8 Ghia and EBII Car City Special

AGAIN FOR EXAMPLE
This one aint a Ghia but its got LPG:-http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=77653

AGAIN GOR EXAMPLE
This one is a GHIA with a Sunroof:-
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=60733

And there are more around that have a high asking price but they wont sell for that.........

And a ming EL Fairmont for $6,400 "asking price" yeah its a 6 but it has wheels and under 200k

That car doesn't count. It's done like 1 million kays, and didn't have a roadworthy or proper door trims and no stereo. It couldn't even rip a skid on command. :

J/K Sunny :

Try picking up a nice EL Ghia V8 with less than 200K's like mine or Blackout's for 6k. If you can do that I'll shut up

Relax. I was reffering to Kenaz comment regarding finding a decent EL Ghia V8 for 6k. It had no reference what so ever to the EB's price at car city.

Obviously our interpretations of decent are different. To me decent would be a EL Ghia V8 with less than 150,000km, clean body, options, service history and no missing bits and peices left to put together. But thats me im fussy with that kind of stuff and would certainly assume cars like this would command more than a 1k premium over the average example.

RELAX Geeez - its like going on a Crazy Roundabout and you cant get off.

But Pyroays car is worth over $100k then there is JETXR

Has no relevance to what DAFISH is looking at, Car City Car is $6k so what else can he get for $6k, not Pyroays or JETXR

I am comparing Like for Like, Not Like for Mint and extremely worked or what you refer to as"decent".

All i simply made was a reply to Kenaz comment about decent EL Ghia V8's, it did NOT directly relate in anyway to Da Fish original query or car in question.

Lets call it an off-topic subject :gren:

There are heaps of EF - EL Ghia v8's out there, on carsales.com there are plenty on that site alone ranging from 6 - 12k. We have been looking around for a new car for awhile now and i had my heart set on a ef - el fairlane, but seen what AU fairlanes are going for decided to wait maybe 6 months and pick up one of them, cheap as and so damn comfy!

BTW i wouldnt buy that car, i would never pay that much, I'd do alot of searching first, you will find a much better one for the same price

We might as well talk about EL Ghia prices because there's no way in hell the EB will be bought.

You can't seriously compare I6 and V8 prices, there is about 300 I6 EF/EL's to every V8, of course they're going to be more expensive. You would have to be very silly, or know very little about cars to not realise that.

think MUCH lower.. i sold it for less than i've seen some EB I6's advertised for. even with no door trims or RWC it was the biggest bargain price in history. yeah it had a few issues but for a few hundred, all could be rectified. the difference was i hate having something for sale for years, with time wasters umming and arring about the product.. i sold it very cheap, to sell it very quick.

oh and HAHAHAAHAHAHA at the asking price of that EB. i sold the el way cheaper than that. plus, wouldn't it be running spacers for those wheels ? who knows.

Honestly, dont even consider it. Get yourself an EL/EF or spend the extra and buy an AU1.

To buy through a dealer can be pretty dodgy, a girl I know here, had a gorgeous Astra, 2002 Model, full bodykit, rims, 80,000 km & all the extras pretty much and was in excellent conidition, When I bought my fairmont she decided she wantted one, and did a clean swap through a dealer for a fairmont with 160,000, standard rims, no rear spoiler NOTHING, the dealer had $7,999 on the fairmont, and sold her astra for $17,999. So just watch the dealers.
