i sorta know how you feel mate. I had someone key my new XR8 2 weeks after i got it. Thankfully its only about 30 cm long and is confined to the passenger door. I have decided to leave it for about a month or so to get fixed

I was VERY ****ed off...

lol. While a full respray would be good, the fact it's my daily driver doesn't help the situation. It's on the road every day of the week.

btw. I know I'm going away from my own topic here, but the car's all back together now, with the sprint kit all on

I'm a casual which means all the time I take off leaves me out of pocket, and I'm meant to be saving for my return to uni next year. This is really the last thing I needed.

lol at stock car. It hasn't been stock for ages! I'm sure they'll still call it stock though. I could strap a turbo on, and they'd still call it stock!

Hey mate,

Bit of bad luck but i am pretty sure we have all been there.. And trust me while a respray might make her look new and pretty there will always be some one out there jealous of wat you have and williing to wreck it.. Just no respect..

2 weeks after i got my car fully resprayed i had a thoughtless idiot (missus brother) throw an egg at my car.. It chipped the paint down to the metal and yer i was not a happy chappy.. $1000 to repair it so i just left it swearing revenge as this particular idiot has no job or respect for anything.. So when i finally retaliated it was oh so sweet..

Lets just say he knows not to mess with me anymore.. LOL..

And to think people said i was crazy to fit a 4 channel digital recorder and 4 camera's to my car.. LOL..

I am sure you'll have your pride an joy all sorted soon enough..

Cheers,
Nik

^^^ That would suck the most. At least most of my paint is nearly 18 years old (although the paint on the front left guard is only 5 years old). That's one of my worries about a full respray, that someone will just do it again. Cheers

That sucks.

The XR in the avatar is driven by my wife. She is a teacher. Day after reports came out (some kids got a deservedly bad rap), the whole near side of the XR had two deep lines all the way down - two passes. Took $2600 to fix - by insurance. Lost excess and no claim bonus. School not interested though.

The good thing was it was used as a wedding car a few days before. Thank heavens it was after and not before.

If i was down south, I'd give you a hand!

yeah, how can anyone feel good about doing that? $2600 is a lot of money, in fact it's more than what my entire car is worth. If I had full comp (which is a waste of money for an EA), then they'd probably just write it off for damage like that. I've been talking to juzzy anyway, and it may end up getting a respray a bit further down the track. The people who do these types of actions are just scum.

yep, it sure sucks.

If they keyed my bonnet, I wouldn't have cared. I've got another one in the garage anyway! It would probably be good, as it would get me motivated to swap it over.

You shouldnt need to ask why you bother you should know by now... Its an e series, to others it may be crap, but to you its your pride and joy. Ive had it happen to my car once already but hey its life. If you didnt spend more money on your EA what would you do with your spare time? Keying cars are done by the out there who wish they wernt alco's and had something to show it. For now just touch it up but if you ever find the guy who done it put your ea to good use, chase him down then due to being a family forum ill leave the next part to everys imagination.

BTW spring kit FTW looks a lot nicer now.

Good luck with the repairs and finding out who done it. As for myself im to lazy to do either so im going to take my drunken self to bed haha

I feel for you mate.

These scumbags have no respect and I'm sure I don't speak alone when I say that I'd love to remove them from society.

My brother and sisters' car were keyed as well. It's one of the worst acts of vandalism of a vehicle. Shame that we can never catch these scum in the act.

Nice ride by the way, don't give up on it. I had an EA Ghia 5 speed for a few years a while ago and loved it. I'm a local too.

Dez so sorry to hear that, I can just imagine now if I caught someone doing that to my car! :jab: Then I'd make them pay for a complete new respray! :

Seriously tho some people have no respect, what the hell do they even get out of keying someone's car except for a few paint scrapings in their hand? ... :jab: :jab: :jab:

I asked about the cameras today, and unfortunately there aren't any at the front, so whoever did it is going to get away with it :(

I have calmed down a lot since yesterday anyway. I basically bashed every door in the house yesterday! Now I know that this type of crap happens. While it doesn't make me happy I know I just have to live with it.

Thanks for the support everyone

Sorry to hear about this Dezza. Some people just have no respect what so ever. My AU has a few nasties on it from parking at the local shopping centre ie: morons opening doors onto it and a few trolley hits too. Chin up mate. I know its disheartining. All the best with it. Cheers, Adam.
