Brendan was fine in person, but I found out he liked to bad mouth people and stir up **** behind their backs.

Working in Lavo North I'd often run over there to buy things for friends and people who wanted to use my garage. I was pretty close and it was easy after all. He was happy to take my money. One time he spent maybe an hour showing me this new tuning software for e-series, I think it might have been the origins of the J3 chip maybe. Did this a few times when I visited.

But when people went back to him after work had been done in my garage he would tell them I was a lying **** and all sorts of crap that I never bough things from him and I probably bought stuff second hand or not even JMM stuff at all and pocketed the money.

I bought a Dev 5 cam from Jim for my EL Ghia. He didn't give me a receipt, just a copy of the EFTPOS slp and wrote "Dev 5 cam" on the back. It came with specific instructions about what springs to use, how to install them, what timing gear and how to time it. I followed it to the letter.

When I sold it eventually years later something happened and the new owner took it back to them at their new shop at Tottenham. Same ****. "He never bought that cam from us, hes lying, thats not the right springs, he never got the right springs from us, he's ****ed up the install and left you holding the bag".

The only accurate thing was I didn't buy the springs from him, I got them from a mate at Bursons who got me good prices. They wanted too much.

Because I was a hoarder I still had the box the new springs came in, with the old OEM Tickford springs still inside and the instructions and parts list. The card receipt was filed with the card statement in the good ol' expandable folder. Gave them to the new owner and said "go forth and **** yourself and Brendan". Didn't hear anything back.

I don't know if it was because I wasn't a JMM devotee, didn't worship their feet and wasn't throwing money at them, but it was weird. His backstabbing bull**** cost me lots of time and aggravation with friends. Heard he did the same to others too...

I figured one of them would go for jail for something at some time. But didn't think it would be that.

how did he get only 10 years for what he was convicted for? chances are he will never leave jail but only 10 years???
