There might be a Falcon, BF V8 supercar or something like in GT3 with the AU XR8 Tickford Supercar. I wouldn't get your hopes up for Aussie cars in any game, the most I've seen was in NFS HP2 with the AU TS50 and the Monaro.

Looks like Forza motorsport 3 will come out about the same time as GT5, hope they have a good range of aussie cars.

I've actually got NFS III, might have to install it again some time. I got it around the time it came out but obviously was too young to be into cars then. I've also got Road and Track's Need for Speed SE

Well I am hanging out for GT5, then I will buy a PS3, surely Sony realize that alot of people will do this.

In saying that RE5, MGS4 and KZ2 all have pretty good reviews.

If you ever want to hook up for a few games, just let me know. I usually host 8 player games, I'm Damoo in game, you might have played in some of my games, I get the occasional lag spike though which makes everyone lag for about 2-3 minutes then it goes good again but everyone sooks lol.

They've got a total of 50GB to use, so why not include a damn poop load of cars? But the problem is I HIGHLY doubt they'd feature the same car with 50 different versions of it over the years. We'd be lucky to get the VE and the BF/FG in the game.

Australia basically doesn't exist to the gaming world, we're insignificant.

The game you have is Need For Speed High Stakes. Was a great game.
And if I remember correctly also had to two aussie cars as police cars in Victorian paint scheme and you could even get a HRT painted version of the clubbie.

I only bought a PS3 for GT5 and God of War 3.

Have a few games but the only things regularly in it are GT5 Prologue and Blu-Ray movies.

That list getting around with nearly 10thou cars is definitely a nice "wish" list.

The problem is mapping/rendering the cars. I can't remember the exact figures (where's that 12 month old mag gone to??) but it goes something like this:-

• GT1 & 2 for PSone had a few hundred polygons for each car. It only took a few hours to build/render each car.

• GT3 & 4 for PS2 had more polygons and detail and takes a few days to do each car.

• GT5 on PS3, thousands of polygons and advanced shadowing/lighting, etc. A FEW WEEKS to build EACH CAR.

The game engine is pretty much complete. It's all the high-def content that we are waiting on.

If we had to wait for them to build every car on that list, well, I'd like to play it before cars are a historical curiosity.

As far as Aussie content goes, I'd love to see all those cars plus every track that's been in V8Supercars/ATCC over the years. Yeah, dreaming :

I'd be happy with 20 or so Holdens/Fords/FPVs/HSVs of varying models/eras (eg: TE Cortina, XY GTHO, XC Hardtop, BF, FG, etc) and at the very least it must have Bathurst!

They never say anything about release dates, its "When its done" still, though they released a HD teaser in 2007 that I stayed up until early hours of the morning waiting patiently for it haha. I guess for release date, mid to late next year or the start of 2011. Also a few screenshots and let me tell you, it looks FREAKIN' AWESOME. Hail to the king, baby ;)

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me. My fave for GT4 is Nurburgring, I could drive it with my eyes closed now _2: . I would love to have other countries getting a taste of what Bathurst is about in a massively popular mainstream game like Gran Turismo.

I like the idea of night/weather though. It's a bit wierd doing a 24 hr race with no change to the lighting. :
