Technically its only been 4 months since MT released in the UK however I'm beginning to have doubts as to whether it will ever come here. But I reckon its worth everyone jumping on Fords facebook page and asking some questions of them about the kits, rather than MT as they dont appear to be the issue.

I'm done waiting for MT. We're also getting screwed on being able to go with Revo here as there are no Ford/Revo distributors here. They're "working on it".
My Bluefin is coming today. Hope to have the tune on by tomorrow. Top service from Tigersoft Performance. Speak to John Robinson. |

I'm almost at the same point. Was thinking last night life's too short. For me the Cobb stage 2 is looking the most likely

Cobb won't work here dude. Their maps work for the north american ECUs only. This is why they've partnered with Mountune to use their handheld devices to distribute tunes globally.

Ah gotcha. They have no plans on releasing their stuff here for the FiST as Mountune was supposed to be covering our market.

So, Bluefin hand held device received today. Connected to car, downloaded stock tune, sent to Superchips, and new tune sent back in less than five seconds. Loaded on to car......and.......
Night and day difference. Car feels so much more alive now. Should be like this stock. First gear off the line, zero wheel spin even under WOT. Second, third, fourth...pulls all the way. First gear under WOT is so short, you're literally shifting to second almost immediately. It literally pins you back. Power is much more present, and delivered very smoothly. Cannot complain at all for $600. Was so easy to install an idiot could do it. See ya Mountune. Done waiting. |

Just done some research into the Bluefin, the warranty they offer is very interesting.
If you want to carry out further mods down the track can they mod your tune to suit?

Do you keep the bluefin piggy-backed to your car or do you plug in, remap, unplug?

Question for you actually. Where did you source your intake from? Have you sent it back already?

It was really loud.. Induction note was nice but that pshh/tss noise was silly. If you want a real CAI buy the Finsports model |

Can anyone tell me how the stock over boost function works? Does it just kick in automatically if you're revving hard for example accelerating up a freeway onramp? Does it only kick in in certain gears at certain rpm and pedal depression?
Also does the Bluefin or other ECU mods allow you to tune for 98 octane use? Assume current Aus default is tuned for 95? Do you guys all use 98 or 95? Thanks. (Newbie) |

Bluefin is one tune. You can't switch between modes. Personally, I never fill on anything other than 98 from BP.
Overboost kicks in when you slam the accelerator to the floor. Only then and in no other conditions. Don't think it matters what gear you are in. It lasts for a maximum of 23 seconds, but the cars ECU can shut it down earlier if it feels the engine is being pressed too hard (i.e. hot conditions). |

Quite literally punch the accelerator to the floor? Or will it kick in any time you hit touch the floor but it might have been gentler? (If you get what I mean)

Back onto the Mountune topic, Ive been pestering my selling dealer about the availability of MT upgrades since they were released in the UK in July. I spoke to him again this morning and now I'm really having doubts about whether it will ever come here. And if it is, its still a long way off (IMO).
Basically he was saying no-one in Ford (that he talks to) knows anything about it and not even the regional manager knows anything or can give him any info. Its obviously a possibility that my dealer isnt telling me something, but I dont see why they would withhold this from me considering they know I'm looking into other options and are potentially losing my custom. He was saying that the likely issue is with warranties, whom pays (FoA or MT) if there is a claim and how do they go about proving what caused the issue. Its frustrating to say the least but without answers from our friends at Ford we can only speculate!

Anyone who is interested in going down the tune path, expect to see the introduction of minor torque steer and wheel spin when WOT. It was inevitable when trying to put this much power to the ground in such a small car, but it is for sure now present.
Torque steer isn't as bad as, say, a Focus ST, but you can feel it tugging. Wheel spin off the line, yup. It's there. For sure. Prepare for even more when it's wet outside. The wheels spin up nice and good. Even on dry they do. In case anyone was expecting this to not happen, a word of advice...... |
