Tho I was paired up with the cop car, I was hoping his car would blow up... I'd win then!... But realy, even if he did blow up, he'd prolly have enough power in his starter motor to beat me lol

I think I might join in the fun. I’ve never been to Calder before.
Sorry for being so ignorant but what happens at these events? Are there any rules or condition in order to race? Are they the same rule that are stated on the Calder raceway website as in must have car in roadworthy condition and a helmet.
I very interested any input would be great

Thanks Adam

your car has to be pretty race worthy... cause it was my first time .. my seat was loose (if you shake it!) said next time i come i need to get it fixed... being its age i guess its common? .. thats all the guy said to me.. and you not have anything loose that could smack you in the melon if you have an accident.. like melways...phones... shove them somewhere. and your boot make sure its empty .

with the speed limits whatever is a safe speed is what the guy who inspected my car said... so whatever is common sense.. i kept at 30-40kmph at the back of the track and when you get near the front of the drag track than i just crawled at 10-15kmph max.

The website should have all valid information.
You will require a helmet (Helmets are also availble for hire)... Check the helmet guidlines if you wish to bring your own.
Good idea to bring some stockies or somthing (no point chewing out your street tyres)...
If your car isnt equiped with a overflow bottle (expansion tank) you will need to make the overflow hose go to a 600ml or larger bottle (coke bottle perhaps... I find wedging it in between the battery and the radiator suprt works well...

What have I missed will be in the website...

it's preferred, not manditory... we all thought it was manditory, but was told at end of the day it was only preferred/recommended.

don't quote me on this, but i think Ian said it wasn't mandatory

It is manditory if you do not have an expansion tank/ overflow bottles... We have the overflow bottles, but some cars do not, in which they require the good ol' coke bottle...

I beleive Learners can Drag, and the full-lisenced passenger will not be required.

that's why you sign the papers i guess, though they ask you fill in every ounce of your details ... licence #, address, phone #, and so on... i don't see how leaners can't go on, you could easily write down a learner permit # and they wouldn't know unless they checked your license :P

Ian will know the proper answer *

ring calder direct on 92178800 and ask them as if you cannot drive on the street without liscenced driver it is the same there and as there are no passengers i wouldn't like your chances especially when it comes to insurance of the track

reason being there are six drivers of those cars but they are also working apparently on a third one but both are legit drag cars and depending on the driver depends on how good it is just the same as the street cars. By the way ben you ran against a female copper just thought i'd tell you that just to make matters worse :

if its not me, calder runs slightly sloped up , as apposed to heathcote .. so times at calder probably generally slower . i dunno ? anyone notice in any difference in visual or the 'feel' of heathcote & calder :P?

i've been to both, i've dragged at calder... and in visual my opinion is that calder is slightly sloped up ... as apposed to heathcote which looks level..

i'm not goin by mates opinions either, and they have said the same... not that anyone should care, afterall people have their own opinions

edit: have you ran at calder?
