I would say the Drag Day at Ballarat will show a true indication on Real Muscle Cars : and best of all they will be all FORDS.

I dint think it’s possible….. unless you plug into the ECU, with a hand scanner.
I have seen it used. Rod plugged one into my Ute a few months back, shows all the parameters etc:

Obviously there was an issue on the day, but I agree has it been taken to the organisers before slagging it out here? Can we safely argue facts when none of us where invovled on the day.

I am no expert on this event, nor did I attend, but whats the aim of this thread if all we are going to do is whinge and not take some action to make sure it doesnt happen again.

I am sure that the owners of these 3 cars are as proud as punch, but are ashamed of the way its being summarised, I certainly would be

Should we perhaps organise our own Muscle Car Shoot out? Make it a National Event taking account the car clubs we have access too both as a forum and individually?

THey hold a AussieShootout @ Willowbank annually too but the link is dead, if I can find it I'll post it up

Would the scrutineers have such equipment?

EDIT: seems they have dropped it from the calender this year in favour of the Nostalgia set-up too

Mark there will be 2 days of events or entertainment.Saturday is a show and Shine for those who enjoy a quite leisurely walk and on the Sunday there will be a Cruz and for those who love some racing the 1/8th mile will be held at the airport which will be open to the public for viewing.

If you can get Numbers, need some good organizing, Calder is for hire but needs plenty of forward thought, its booked solid nearly every day of the week.
Maybe see if the interest is there in your GT club 1st.
I can ask what the costs would be for track hire for a day...
We would want circuit and drag or just drag?
If its just drag Heathcote might be the go.

There is already the heathcote event planned, but it seems people are dropping off like flies and there will be more LS1 than fords!

Laminge what is there to be ashamed about? The cars involved which were modified were the ones that were up the top simple.A proper Shoot out should of been done in classes. :

Theres been so much fuss made over it that the highlight of the day has been lost IMHO.

I know if it was me in that top 3, and then reading these posts, i would not be back in a hurry

Aye, the rules for the day may of needed to be different, so lets change it and organise our own event, get one of the mags to cover it, even if thats AMC, and get it right!

That sounds like a plan.I know a few nice and quick cars that will be interested, and i'm sure they would be happy to be put in there own individual classes.

I dont think we will ever get the classes right 1st time based on this thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...8833#post78833 but a simple database of car, times, mods maybe a starting point.

Gary it would be a pretty simple task-Bolt on mods,Standard, modified engine and driveline incl tyres ect... and a seperate class for the power adders including N20

Why would we need to do this

The debate between Au and BA is getting stale.

I dont see the need to continue along these lines, what would be interesting is seeing a car come out of ford that would rival the LS1

At this stage lets keep the focus on having fun at the drags.
