Dunno, but I wouldn't go to their website - it has been hi-jacked with malware. Sounds like a two-bit organisation...

As if they'd know anything about Australian muscle cars anyway.

So $235K plus fees? I thought it would have gone for more to be honest.

A similar car popped up on australian muscle car sales this morning - not RPO83 and not manual but has everything else you could ever want for $169,000

Wonder if the chicken coupe rang the bell on the top of this market cycle?

Colour combos: those weird 70's combinations are so much more interesting than todays. Today you can have

Black
White
Grey
Grey - alternate, lighter shade
Grey - alternate, darker shade
Red - for total rebels

And interior

Black
Black leather, ages badly in 2 years

booooooooooring

(Tip of the hat to those that do offer lots of interior choices today like JLR)

What is it that I do not understand here ?
A rusty relic sells for $300K that will require $x?x?00 to get to the roadworthy stage, or $235K for something with 2 more doors that you can drive away.

I think the person selling this car has done themselves out of at least $50-100k just with the short marketing duration.

The chook coup would have been on several forums, It even appeared on US based media etc.

How long was the auction for?

Either the chook coup car was a rip off or this one was a bargain. I think the latter to be honest.

I once heard that some of the "high" dollar sales of "unique" cars may have an element of money laundering to them. It just doesn't make sense ...

if you have acquired money illegally and not paid tax on it, used such funds to buy a unique car, upon sale of the said car, the money received from the buyer is clean........generally the seller doesnt car if he/she has made a "loss" as the money used to make the purchase was not earned as such from an ATO perspective
