This is the Sherwood Green colour as I remember it, its a bit darker than a couple of recent rebuilds that I've seen with this colour. This paint job may need a bit of buffing for you to truly appreciate it, can you guys see this on an XC ute with all the GS black outs?

Blood Orange, Electric Orange, Burnt Orange, Vermillion Fire....bit of a theme. Also anything yellow. Dont know if you are going for a complete resto, but if you are lookinmg to do something different, have a look at other manufacturers colours. Mazda currently have some excellent colours in their range, Mitsubishi did a nice white with a hint of metallic through it, holden did a yellow called Absinth Yellow (I painted my RS that shade) and if you want bright, look at some of teh colours the bike manufacturers are using.

Blueprint, Narooma Blue, Cobalt blue, and Phantom, all great Ford colours.
Of the current range, I would have to say either Ego or Seduce.

My favorite colour is a BMW colour called Carbon Black. It is a dark dark blue almost black. Looks black in poor light. But that's irrelevant. Don't go black unless you are able to spend mega bucks getting it right. Nothing looks better than perfect black, nothing looks worse than imperfect black.
Being that you want to paint an XC Ute and you're considering Sherwood green, then there was also a steel blue released in XC which was similar shading and period correct. and woul look good. In warmer tones Walnut Glow was a metallic brown. but not with GS blackouts Look up XC data and Fairlane LTD of the era. Blueprint is a beautiful colour but not on an XC.

Of non-ford colours, once again i'll have to say Arancio Atlas thanks to big mike for the pic too.

That is way cool too. But don't go resto and paint it like this. If you do this, go the whole way. This paint deserves billet wheels etc. Looks like a cool F1 you have there Tonko. I'm starting to feel your pain here. I'll have to get to this with the ZF one day..

I have two that I like, and neither are mentioned in this thread.
Period would have to be Code "K", TANGO Current design, Fords Flare And something that any ford fan would love (may not suit all models) Pepper Grey (I thought long and hard about this with ghost strips) Good luck picking!
