Got the email too. Thought it looked dodgy, but I'll look into it more now.

Hi fordforums.com.au people!
Just in case there is anyone still wondering - Yes, these emails are genuine. Where possible, we will contact past service customers directly to advise them of this program. Customers that do not receive direct contact from Ford but believe they may be entitled to compensation can visit www.ford.com.au/roadside-claim for information about Ford’s Roadside Assistance Compensation program or to lodge a claim. For further questions customers can call 1800643673. Regards, Shahni @ Ford Australia |

Ford compensates owners for (not) free roadside assistance Ford Australia has admitted a clerical error will cost it almost $10million, with plans to compensate owners of more than 430,000 vehicles that were charged for “free” roadside assistance over the last five years. The car maker has initiated what it calls a “remediation program” after an internal investigation found that it had charged customers $15.95 for a free service that may never have been used. It comes a week after the blue oval was hauled over the coals by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which launched legal action over what it claims as “unconscionable and misleading or deceptive conduct” and “false or misleading representations in its response to customer complaints."

The 3 month / 3000km inspection is also counted I believe.

Thought they are giving back what they should have never charged in the first place...so how is that "costing" them, and how is it "compensation" and not a "refund"? They probably made money by having $10m of other peep's money for a period of time. Or are they refunding everything that should not have been charged, plus an additional $10m in compensation on top of the refunds? Doubt it. |

oddly for me, the other services that i have had done outside the eligibility period were the same price as these so called 'overcharged' ones, so i'm wondering how that is possible. Happy to accept my gift card, but doesn't quite add up.

Just print them off on your PC and present the voucher at the store of choice on the list given.

Just printed out my E Vouchers tonight, takes a while to work out what it's all about. Now I can hardly wait to make the 100 km round trip to Bathurst to spend my $7 voucher at Coles and my $10 voucher at Big W.

Yes. For those that have a larger refund over a few vehicles, the process is a bit complicated and time consuming. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I suppose.

One option you are not given is to use the vouchers on your next service at a Ford Dealership. Bean-counters asleep at their desk?
