How's that for a find haha. Would it make the car worth more then what it is? Not really a 'collectable' haha. My uncle is stoked but!

I'll get some pics asap.

To make a topic out of this, what finds have you made when buying a car?
I hope it was a high spec or HSV for 15k.

Snap ...... same here when I picked up a ratted out XF two years ago. Almost 1 pound that was taped to the scalloped out lower seat cushion. Brother and his mates were in heaven (literally) for months.

I bought an old rare honda N600 years ago from a mechanic mate of my Dad's, drove it around for a fortnight and everytime I went round a corner little square pieces of paper would fall out under the dash. They were pretty dried and crusty but seemed to be a packet of some sort, couldn't work it out until I called the mechanic and asked him who he bought the car off - some junkie delears was the answer, so home it goes, out with the tools and pulled all the seats and dash out. Cut into the carpet under the drivers seat was a small pouch, inside were a stack of dirty syringes, spoons etc. These ferals were actually sticking those rusty needles up their arms but swabbing the area of skin - which is what the packets turned out to be for.
I pulled the floor plugs out and hosed that sucker down with a gurni.
Here I am thinking dero's in the city were staring at the car because it was unusual and a baby poo mustard in colour, turns out it was the mr. whippy van of the drug world.

Now a genuine Brock signature on a VE would be a find!

Never found anything of interest in our cars since all of ours have been brand new.

However, 15k for a VX is pricey - even for low kays because 2 years ago my brother got a 3 year old VY with 60,000kms for 15k (before rego and all that biz). Was bought from Fowles (now Manheim Fowles) and has had no problems with it.

We have a VTII that is 8 years old, and only has ~87,000kms on it and never had a problem (except the receivers in the door dying a couple of times), but the fact is it is an 8 year old car, and regardless of how little it is driven, it still depreciates. It doesn't help that there are a lot of VTs on the road.

The reason why GTHOs are worth good cash is because of scarcity, as well as the history, plus maybe the fact that they kick .

But basic Commodores...meh...transport

I bought an XE a few yrs ago for $100 with 1 days rego. It had enough half empty oil containers of all different types of oil in the boot to open a Repco shop, as well as various tools. But the real bonus was the money box full of 50c pieces that totalled $63 - so the car cost $37!

Its a poverty pack 3.3L 5 speed GL with a massive alloy bull bar. All it needed was a pitman arm to pass rego. Son got 2 yrs use out of it and I am about to put it back on the road to drive to the mines

I have never found anything special in a used car...just the usual church change. If you don't clean your car out before you sell it and you leave something of value in it (not personal such as photos etc)...bad luck I say!

The most valuable thing left in used cars these days would be a full tank of fuel

I am going to open up a golf shop with all the golf balls and tees the old bloke left in the Sportsman - still finding the buggers. Well I suppose the thing is the size of an ocean liner - plenty of room to hide!

we owned a car for about 2 years. when it was time to sell it, i gave it a good clean. in the far corner of the boot i found 500+ bucks worth of various gold rings and chains. it was all sitting in the joint between where the wheel arch meets the back seat. had no idea what it was doing there. maybe used in a robbery one day??

Ha, we used to have an N600 too.

When i stripped my XR i found a beach boys tape under the front seat, loads of 1c and 2c coins (one from 1966, the same as the car) and amongst all the parts in the boot, about 6 radiator caps and a bong!

I thought I would hit a gold mine in my car, which is an ED, so I looked around in it, and literally, the only thing I found was an ATM receipt from 1997 and a cigarette butt. There was literally not a single thing underneath the back seat.

Awww. :(

When i got my AU i found nothing was spotless all though i have not lifted the back seat yet. Im gonna now lol.

Im a detailer so i have a list.

Ive found every bullet 90% live from 22 shells 22 hornet shells 12 gauge shells 38 shells 45 auto shells 235 shells i think it was. Cant remember the rest!

The amount of kids toys aint funny we have a wall of them.

Took a chicks spare tyre out once and i picked up a shirt off it and pulled 13 pairs on underware out with plyers and into a bag ahahahha.

Heaps of money. Found $1450 in a priavte car which of course i couldnt take damnit!

I have heaps of CD`s out of dealer cars never take stuff out of private cars unless its jammed somewhere the owner wouldnt know.

Heaps of coin. But sometimes people put like shiny 2 dollar coins in the middle of the floors and stuff to see if we will take it...you really think im that dumb?

Found a Condom in a BF on the floor clear as day. When i was finished the car i was that angry i picked it up with plyers and put it in his drink holder

To top it off i found a Play Station Portable in a 100k Range Rover, Rang the car yard and they said "Pft keep it" SCORE!

I found a live .223 shell, an empty whiskey bottle, and at least 3 of those things you use to clean your toenails (not weird at all!) in my ute. My mate found a home-taken photo of a chick in dominatrix gear (whip and all) in a XE he scored off one of his dad's employees. Funniest thing was he knew the guys wife and it wasn't her :P

Around 7 years ago I arranged a meet to test drive a ZL lane privately advertised. The guy selling it seemed a bit confused and maybe disappointed when I pulled the cash out of my wallet to pay for it on the spot. Around a month later I decided to try and see what was causing the drivers mirror cover to sit ajar, took it off and there's a bag containing smaller bags of grass and 1 bag with a dozen pills. Given what I paid for the car I think the drugs would of cost more on their own

In the AU I found nothing other then a half empty sheet of birth control pills under the back seat, kind of hope the owner at the time had rear seat cover.

We used to inspect all the import jap cars over the wharves in Brisbane for the Govt and we found everything. Drugs, guns, knives, porn(home porn, wife porn all porn). It was incredible how much of a persons life the Japs used to leave in the cars.
