Nice to hear it wasn't a factory problem causing the leaks anyway .

It's understandable how you felt about your situation , there's nothing more annoying than spending thousands on a new'ish car only to be left spending more to fix it ! .

At least it wasn't nothing too major ;) . cheers .

Lightbulb Leaking AU2 boot.

I have a theory. Having wrecked my brains trying to find the same problem in mine ( AU2 Fairmont Ghia ), to cut a long story short, slowly closing the boot while looking along the right-hand side I noticed that as the boot was closed the rubber grommet/tube/hose or whatever that takes the wires to the no/plate lights, pulls away from the body. Thus the hose would almost cause a dam effect there whilst the seal is suspect. Therefore water could get into the body and the hose can also fill explaining the 'gush' when the lid is opened. However I only came up with this theory today and tried a heap of sylicone so tune in for the next episode.... success or failure. Would like to hear from others though who can check the movement of that hose as the boot lid is closed.

Cheers.

No probs today, bloody hot in Sydney.

Well, it appears to have worked. We've had some heavy downpours here in Sydney, not a drop in the boot
