Your car is a TDCi … diesel.
Most of the problems on powershift were with the dry clutch petrol models. We had a Fiesta which had powershift transmission extended to 7 years and ten years on the Tcm. Your dealer could be correct in saying no extended warranty with the diesel models. Importantly what year is your car? |

Gotta love auto dual clutch transmissions eh?
I have my car at the panelbeater. In its place I have a insurer supplied rental car. It’s a MG Hs six months old. It has a seven speed auto dual clutch transmission. And it’s a crap transmission at 14500 kms flares sticks just likes even throttle only doesn’t like pressure on throttle u to o accelerate doesn’t like reversing up slopes. Slips and flares unless you just use moderate even accelerator pedal pressure. Effectively you need a different driving style to make it drive smoothly. |

Hence why I was asking others who've gained access to a case manager and also reported to have known others who've either had their TCM and clutch issues either replaced or had their entire vehicle replaced by a newer model (2018/2019). As I believe these TCM and clutch issues were all reported to be arising with pre 2015/2016 models before they released the PowerShift transmission. Jesus, I don't think I'm prepared to spend $3,600 and the fact my car was shuddering and jerking as well as losing power at times, should mean that Ford should be responsible enough to acknowledge liability!! |

I dont think you will get anywhere with Ford.
I suggest you take the car to a quality specialist automatic transmission shop and get a second quote and diagnosis. if you are on the Gold Coast or Logan I d strongly recommend Russels on the GC. You have not mentioned your mileage. It may be worthwhile fixing the transmission to give you peace of mind for say 80000 kms as the cost will be still cheaper than buying another car. The diesels in those cars go forever if you service every 15000kms with filters oils etc. I had a Focus 2008 TDCI 2 litre (manual) I sold at 280000kms -motor was still going superbly. As a footnote you havent mentioned your mileage but other costs coming up will be timing belt water pump at 180000kms shocks brakes at every 100000kms. Not much else goes wrong. |

I've contacted ford Australia multiple times and been given the run around every time. First, only petrol motors with dry clutch were given the extended warranty and then after explaining the issues I had were exactly the same, they then said, "sorry, your car has exceeded its lifetime warranty by going over 100,000km". Mind you, I first contacted them when the car was at 97,000km and the shuddering began at around 85,000km and by the time I contacted ford Australia and they had bothered to respond, I was at 102,000km. Seriously? Oh, and now I'm just finding out that the $3600 quote for the transmission repairs (TCM replacement and dual clutch change out) was apparently for a dry clutch and now I'm being told because it's a wet gearbox, I need a completely different TCM and the manual labour will be much more excessive than that of a dry gearbox and it's sounding like I'll be looking at $5000-$5500. I've been referred to these guys by many mechanics in Sydney and apparently they know their stuff. Out of all the places I had spoken to they were the only ones who knew what they were saying as soon as I mentioned focus 2013 with shuddering and multiple TCM code errors arising. I've been driving for 8 months now without second, fourth or sixth gears lol I managed to figure out a way to continue driving the car when it initially continued to stay stuck in first gear and wouldn't change into second gear as the revs would hit 5000-6000. Eventually I decided to use the sport shift and managed to jump into third gear from first and fifth from third. It would do the same thing down shifting by skipping even gears. Just doesn't seem right that Ford have managed to find a way around being held liable for all types of motors given the issues are exactly the same!
