This just sums up Colleen beautifully! What a woman.

To reiterate the seriousness of her plight - she mentioned in her PM that she was trying to "buy herself some more time".

Even though she may not come back to AFF - I hope many more people drop in here to share their thoughts - It's inspiring to know what a great lady she is to so many people, and how many smiles she is responsible for!

the thing that impresses me so much about col, is her attitude in general. col and i are almost totally opposite in personality, yet it is so easy to like her. she is not only very friendly and sociable when there is a group of people, but she actively seeks out the one person by themselves and gives them the same amount of time, one on one as she does to the popular people. that in my opinion is very rare in a person
her attitude has been amazing. even before this "thing" started causing more grief, her attitude and happy go lucky personality was an inspiration. i did not realise what the "in my own delusion" part in her signature meant. unfortunately i think i understood what "no longer in my own delusion" meant. even then, she could have been angry with the world, but i have only found her to be a sweet and happy, beautiful person. over the last 8 months her and jack have been fantastic to socialise with. great hosts, great company, great friendship - yet they could have been so much less so, and no one could have blamed them
i truly believe that this forum has been a very positive situation for col, but that was when it seemed the "thing" was inoperable. now there is a glimmer of hope i understand that she must now focus on her own health and hopefully very soon, she will be in a recovery that will allow her to return to full health
get well soon col

Can somebody PM me her postal address or perhaps an address of someone who knows her so I can send her a card?

Gary said it all so well.

Colleen has always been a happy, optimistic, friendly and outgoing person who always puts others before herself. Her courage is almost beyond belief.

Her and Jack are holding up well, everyone's kind thoughts and best wishes are keeping her going!!

Get well soon Col.

sad to hear about Colleen`s condition,
i do remember reading a post that she put up once mentioning that she was very ill with a not so bright future prospect. it made me appreciate the good advice and cheerful/funny posts she always gave us.

cancer is a bastard of a thing . i sure hope that the docs over there can do something to help and i`d like to send my best wishes to both colleen and her familly. (does she have children ? ).

as in bingo`s post above, is there anything we can do to help.

some smiles for colleen

I've just been contacted by Col, who I feared would be ****ed off at me for creating this thread.
She said she was embarrassed at first but then came to realise that people were remembering her in a great way.

She has now agreed to let everyone know that she's loving the warm wishes and comments and has even agreed that I post her email address if anyone wants to send their thoughts to her personally...

Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories and regards - she's a really wonderful lady and your messages are very uplifting for her.

Col's email address is xbcoupe76@gmail.com

Please continue to support this wonderful lady in her daily battle with ill health.

Kind Regards to all.
Duke.

True. A good balance there as Colleen's sanity cancels out sb's insanity.... <<< SB would take that as a compliment too... j/k

Hi Everyone!!!

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and well wishes. I was not going to log back in but have been hit with so many emails, txt and phone calls!!! Thank you all so much. I am a little embarrassed (to say the least!) but happy that I made you all laugh so much.

It has been my first week of intense chemo and it has been rough...but there are people far worse off than me, especially the kiddies in the burn unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital or any hospital come to think of it!

All the same...I thank you all for your kindness. It does install a faith back in humanity that is beyond words

Jack and I are ok financially wise (Thank you all for your concern)...heck...I am an accountant and he is dutch!! if that aint a receipe for penny pinching...I don't know what is!!

I find out next week when I fly to London. I will be keeping Duke (Jeff), Bearman (Craig) and gtxb67 ( Gary) updated.

Thanks again for all the text and emails. It really has made a difficult situation all the more bearable to deal with. To know that I made so many people laugh...well....that is more than I could ever ask for!

Take care and keep smiling A smile is free and costs nothing but does make the person you share it with feel better!!! Dont forget that!

Love
Col :

I've never really dealt or spoken Colleen in the past but i'd just like to offer my best wishes to both her & her family in this difficult time. Our thoughts are always with you.

Unfortunately it always seems to happen to those who least deserve it :(
