Martin/Molloy remains the best Australian radio duo! All these 'drivetime' shows pale in comparison.

I agree they are the best radio duo ever.
They Might not be everyones favorite but they got my humor spot on with their 2 comedy styles, that covered smarts and slapstick in one.
They had it all!!!!

The Kiwi eecent wus choice!

AHahahaha.......
Tum un Phul's Fushn Chups! Oh so sweet.

I've got the "Eat you peas" CD. What a laugh.

I remember Tony Martin played "sounds of summer", think it was "get this".
So funny, Sounds of summer included a sound of a sprinkler going of tap. You know the "Tick....tick....tick...tick....ticker.ticker.tick er........tick....tick...." noise.
Said something in the lines of "Yes, you can't get that sound anymore".

Yeah. "Urgh, The birthday boy"

I've gotta give that mantle to Roy and HG. Gone longer, harder and stronger. Solid radio not broken up to pieces by adds and music - my biggest criticism of Martin Molloy was all the (crappy) music you had to endure in order to listen to them. But there's daylight between R&HG/Martin Molloy to the rest, at least the last time I actually tuned into Australian Radio several years ago.

Still podcast Roy and HG though.

The thing I did like for Roy and HG (used to watch them on the ABC a lot), was when they were doing the winter olympics on ch7 "The Ice Dream".
Even though they commercialized themselves, still a good ozzie laugh at very dry humour.

Whilst watching a female iceskater, there was mention of a "Front Bum".
I use this term a lot now, thanks Roy and HG.
If you can't figure it out, you need a new brain! One that comes with sarcasm/wit or dry humour.

Nice way to put it though. ;)

I never saw much of the Ice Dream, I was OS at the time and was sad I missed it. The Summer version was popular around the world and it's a shock to me why 7 didn't run with it again. They did podcast daily updates though which aren't as funny as them commentating with the visuals (particularly the Gymnastics).

Roy & HG are unreal, but Martin/Molloy was classic as well.
"Please Explain" was a classic segment that actually upset Pauline so much that she made the comment "I've been heckled, they have a segment called Please Explain"
Pete Smith also sent himself up on Martin Molloy.
One of the classics I remember was around the impeachment of Bill Clinton where they had a segment of what presidents would be remembered for, they then played the famous quotes; "The only thing to fear is fear itself" then "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" then Bubba with "Kiss it, go on kiss it". I almost smashed my car when I heard this.
Pity they are off, even at the time the segments on John McEnroe where hilarious "Ooohh, want me to call your mummy".

I have link to all the episodes as they went to air, I have downloaded most of 2006 and soon to start 2007. Will find it when I get home.

I also have all the podcasts but not sure how to upload them anywhere.

Played the Brown Album for the wife after it arrived thanks to Ebay... She of course wanted to know what all the fuss was about.

"Who's Martin / Molloy?"
"Who's Tim Forsyth?"
"Who's Arthur Tunstall?"
"Who's Bob Geldof?"
"Why are they making fun of Hugh Grant?"
"Who's OJ Simpson?"
"Why are they making fun of the French?"....

Almost every joke needed a 20 minute history lesson.....

Oh well... Looks like I'll be enjoying them solo.

Just got to find my Guido Hatsis CD's... that may crack a grin lol...

I'm a massive fanof all the old D-Gen stuff. I have the D-Gen DVD, Best of The Late Show, Bargearse/Olden Days, I then have somewhere Poop Chute and Brown album, I have the Guido Hatzis CDs mentioned somewhere.

But what I like the most is my copy of The Satanic Sketches by D-Gen on vinyl I picked up for $2!

I love all the old stuff, someone mentioned the Patrick Stewart sketch - was that the McDonalds one... drive round to the second window.

Also there was one "The English Patient" sketch was one of my favourites too, what's this, an Australian hospital, I bet your food's crap and all.

I am in tears laughing at this:

Hinder
Nickelback the second. When Nickelback were taken off the playlist, Hinder arrived to take their place. In service, not only to their fans but also humanity in general, the Get This Team introduced the 'Hinder alarm' which was played before the terrible Lips of an Angel was played, allowing their fans to avoid the rubbish that was about to be played.

I have all of 2006 and 50 odd shows from 2007. All I listen too in the car.

Default Re: Remember Martin\Molloy

Loved Martin/Malloy... Only way you'd get me to listen to B105... But d gen is where it's at..

Satanic sketches is an awesome cd.. But hire radio show was just brilliant..

The frequent caller called Wayne.. Possibly their coolest character in my opinion

But I wouldn't say Aussie radio comedy is dead, I enjoy hamish and andy...
But if you really want to laugh listen to ray Hadley... Now he's a real joke.. Errr
