Maybe they do an exception job. I know if I had the money I would only take my beast to the best. Certainly looks like they did a great job.

I remember hearing after the movie came out that they took the wrecked car to some place in Yatala, here in Qld to get the chasis straigthened. Apparently the guy in Yatala does alot or work on V8 supercars, including DJR team and is the gun in straightening chasis.

This now rings true if the panel shop was someone at Logan......

That look great, heaps of work gone into that rear end, looks fully floating too?? There is no panhard or watts link tho, how would it be located laterally? Looks like some fresh work on the front suspension too.

Looks like it has a really nicely designed triangle four link. No need for a panhard.

These photos were originally posted on Facebook by Darryl's XB Coupe...

You may remember him from the "Love The Beast" movie...

It is definately the 're-build' and not the original build...

The Beast... Is Back...

And here's hoping that he does a track day tour in the capital cities...
(or at least Calder Park - that is close to me!!!!)

I'd say you could fill Calder with Petrolheads that watched Love The Beast... and would love to see the beast breathing fire again...

There's something very strange with that rear suspension set up. It may "look" really cool, but it is far from ideal for an intended tarmac/road race car. Should have consulted a suspension expert I reckon.

Maybe the panel shop did the fabrication of that rear end??

No, a well-designed triangle four-link with good geometry and proper articulating joints can be a very nice tarmac suspension. The only real downside is a high-ish roll centre, but it will have good anti-squat, articulate well and have a reasonably long SVSA.

I'd have gone with an asymmetric 3-link, but the triangle 4-link should work well.

EDIT: Camber/toe adjustable floater as well, with what looks to be a spline-drive sway bar. Way cool.

I'd believe that! Because Eric would have wanted it perfect, and no one else was willing to stake their reputaion on a job like this. Perfect is where Logan Village thrive! Hell, I know a car that Rob worked on before Logan Village started, the parts he didn't touch are stuffed! He is the only one allowed to touch any of our cars!

You will possibly find the guys in the know [in Vic] recommended him anyway...
It can be a small world at times .. Who knows Rob "may" have put his hand up ??

From memory there were rumours this car was up in Queensland to be looked at anyway...

I suspect any compromises are to do with the regulations of the tarmac rally class Bana intends to compete in, probably stuff like using factory mounting locations etc.
