What a waste of money and even more so if you decide to have it done properly in a year or two.

And what would really p me off the most is that I would always know the car wouldn’t have received the care, skill and attention to detail of a proper paint correction before the sealer was applied and therefore won’t have that deep shine that only a good detailer would provide.

I would call BS on the product being applied. When is the car being picked up? Think about how long dealers stuff you around, and drag their feet, suddenly they pull their finger out for Paint Protection. No way, I hear that excuse all the time. If the car is a few days away from delivery they will do that last of all.

If no contract is signed don't pay. Tell them again you don't want it and won't be signing.

There is no way they started work without a signature.

If the contract is signed check what the cool off rules are. At worst you would lose a deposit.

You can refuse to see her you know, it is a free country last time I looked...
And no ,he wouldn't get sacked he'd just have to tell his manager you refused to see the sales chick

No way mate, you've got a written contract without it.

I would tell the dealer you are walking away from the sale if they want to try that ****

What you will get is even worse than nothing. What you will get is damaged paint that Rancid will have to spend more time fixing and he will need to remove more of the precious thin paint on the car to do so.

I'd def be putting my foot down - if they try and charge you more than the contracted price, walk away; if they have damage the car with their chimps out the back with a dirty applicator and a pot of snake oil, walk away

I pretty much did the same thing when i put the deposit down with my falcon, salesman took me over to their ''aftermarket specialist'' i sat in that chair all for 1 minute, i thought lets see how much their prices are for a giggle, before being told a price she wanted to show me a demonstration about how smooth the paint work is on a new xr8 in the showroom was, she gets up and starting rubbing her fingernails on someones sold xr8!!! and goes ''look its resistant to scratches'' i was dumb founded and so was my missus! i wanted to slap her out for doing that and it wasnt even my car! at that point i said to her in a no way nasty tone ''im not interested in anything you want to sell me, i dont want to waste your time''............ man she was ****ed to say the least, ah well no commission for you today

following week we put the deposit down on a focus, we did the deal, straight after all i said to the salesman ''can we skip the upsell queen'' to which he laughed and had no problem with that.

dont get that treatment pack done mate, especially when its not on your contract, all they are going to do is apply that crap and stuff your paint work at the same time, it'll end up costing you double, once at the dealer and another at a detailer to correct the damage that they'll do, if you want paint protection do what im doing and what so many others around here do, get it done at a proper detailer after you take delivery.

enjoy the new car!

The mistake I made this time was that I told the salesman to not bother with the "Aftermarket Specialist" as we aren't interested, we will get it done thereafter when we don't get charged extortionate pricing for it.. He said OK then and took us to the Business Manager... Either he told the ming mole or she heard me and accosted us as we stepped out of the Business Managers office with the spiel... That was the stage I said not really interested thanks anyway...

Ive told them im not paying for it when we collect the car, if in fact the products where applied then oh well too bad... If they push it I will walk away and we will go elsewhere...

With my Mazda the Aftermarket lady was a right cow to me.. When I said I had my tint organized through some friends of mine who own a Tinting company (Mates Rates) she lectured me on how much better their tint was than what I was getting and how I was silly not to get their one for "Only $695" I told her that she had no idea what she was talking about, how does she know hers is better when she doesn't know the Brand/etc of the tint I am getting through mates.. Her response... "I just know ours is the best so therefore must be better" had a good laugh at that one... After speaking to my mates who own the business, the big car yards they have the contracts for are only paying $200 per car and the rest is pure mark up and profit for doing nothing...

+1

good freind of mine also in the car tint business, the place he works at now has the supply contract with the local dealers, and they only put the cheapest crappy tint on the cars, yet you pay the dealers much much more than you would pay directly for the best quality tint.

( I dunno what the real price is for tint, i have always got cash in hand jobs after hours in my garage, paid less than $200 for the best films)

You can pretty much guarantee that all those cars with bubbles in the tints were the ones sold by the ming molls. The good quality films do not bubble.
