I feel your pain! I did a similar thing 3 months ago in Texas. Drinking, climbed over a pool fence slipped and broke my collar bone. An ambulance trip + metal plate and $40,000 later I was fixed. I learnt my lesson and will never put myself in that situation again.

hospital stay $$$$
surgeon $$$
Theatre costs $$$
anaesthetist $$$
Pins and plates $$
drugs ( no PBS)$$
Physio $$$$
the US is not a good place to be sick or injured
Makes our "inferior" health system everyone whines about look pretty good

yes but it will still be no where as good as we have it here there will be strict limits and you will be assigned a doctor . no choosing your GP and you will find the cover will be like their unemployment benefits you get X amount then you're on your own
