Because alot of the time the manufacturers are calling the shots from behind the scenes. They have to approve the repairs to start with, many of which in these cases come and go and when it comes to the dealer are not showing. Dealers have to fault before they can get Ford to process.

Yeah and the other point is delivering stock that has no build impediments (limit on V6 in first 6 months)
So Ford has two choices, stick to limited supply of high series V6 that are already sold or fill up the boat with some free stock for dealers to sell….sometimes “it’s here on the lot” gets the walk in impulse buyer |

Are you guys telling me that my gazillion dollar dealer delivery fee, means they are not checking over my new car purchase thoroughly, before handing me the keyfob?

with many new car owners forced to sign legal waivers as they wait for replacement vehicles.
This was hinted at a few days back .. not a confidence inspiring element.. just hope they have s orted what ever issues there are and its not a bandaid fix

It was fine, but it didn't feel even close to the PX3 for refinement. |

As soon as ACA gets involved, the story looses any credibility in my books, having seen what they did many years ago to get a hooning story on the GC (Posed as Uni Students doing Film and harrassed/paid people to do burnouts and race for there "assessment".)

There is really not much a dealer can do if the vehicle arrives working perfectly, and something goes wrong weeks later. |

This article definitely fits though. A sum total of 2 owners on the ACA program. Seriously. They've sold 3-5k/month since their release. No brand is immune to the odd problem vehicle.

I thought I was getting to cynical old man status but I reckon you're a bit further up the road

The inside gossip I get from some guys who work for ford dealerships tell me these new rangers have plenty of teething problems; how true is anyone's guess but could explain why some owners are not very happy. ACA program is only talking of 2 that has come to light, could be lots more we not hearing about. Food for thought! |

DoA CAM phaser on the 2019 Mustang. Start it up and you could hear it. No way a dealer could have missed that. Water leaking, warning lights on (they cleared the codes before they gave it to me), digital radio not working. No way they could have missed that in PD. Dried out the car and sold me a story of Digital Radio not working in Toowoomba well. Dodgy as they come. Found out it was due to the water corroding wires causing it to fail. Maybe not in the case of this Ranger but some dealers are pure garbage.

It's not a non-disclosure agreement. Its simply a waiver to say that you accept the new vehicle and in doing so waive your right to take any further action against Ford, its people and the selling dealer. Don't let the truth get in the way of your story telling tho.

Is this a Ranger thing? We didn't sign any waiver or NDA when we bought our Escape.

I believe they had NDAs many many years ago. Think the start of B series days. Haven't heard the use since then though and the document is what you mentioned.

Its why my old employer was in the process of ditching the PX3 biturbo that he had replaced after 2 sets of 10a pump gears, a new box and brake lines before/incase it raised its inconvenient head again. |

Either way I think this is getting blown out of proportion somewhat. There's a lot of Rangers on the road. Even 200 would be a small number in the scheme of things. These aren't $20k cars. Pretty sure if there was a large number it would be all over these boards as well as other social media outlets.

Kypez tells us about having repeat replacements and whilst we accept that as fact, he's obviously dabbled in new Fords a bit, something the two in the ACA piece clearly dont have on their side. I bet if you had ongoing issues with your escape, had it replaced and found the same in the new one it might not be the result Kypez has had. |
