It's for the first 60,000kms not forever.

try comparing prices between the different ford dealerships for the same job, say the 100,000km service. you will be totally shocked.

Well I worked for a Holden dealer and never did a regular service include diagnostic checks or the latest software or even a check of technical data to see if these vehicles had a new recurring problem!

This was only done when requested and at a cost.

just remember, the service intervals on the corolla are 10k and not 15k like on the falcon... so if you average it out... it would mean the corolla would cost more in the long run, and yes, our corolla just passed 120k and it costs a fortune to service later on in its life.....

My Pajero Diesel just had its second service (30k)... quotes ranged from 550 to 1000..... so dont feel too bad about it

Has any one else heard of these minor parts being so expensive? In saying that all of the work utes are toyotas and they are pretty indestructable and very rarely need major work done to them, some of the older ones have over 300,000 k on the clock and still going considering the flogging they get.
My previous employer had a Toyota fleet and one of the Hilux 4x4s had
a gear lever failure like you described, it was replaced free of charge...

Wifey has owned a black RAV4 CV for close on 18 months now, only 12,000 Kms on it.
Takes it in for the six monthly service to wipe the spiders off the dipstick....

The big difference between Ford and Toyota dealerships is
how they treat their potential buyers - especially the women.
When purchasing a small SUV, I let my wife do the research and
leg work with all the dealerships. We crunched the numbers and
how the sales people treated her when she visited them.

Judging by our experience, Ford must be losing hundreds of sales daily....

Ive never had a service on my vehicle(s) at my preferred Ford dealer without these basic things being done. Once again, repeat, differing dealers differing habits, and perhaps for differing brands that is the norm.

I dont understand why they WOULDNT....simple fault detection = $ in the dealers pocket for a fix.

Maybe the difference between the ones you visited, but you cannot seriously think this is true for all of them!

I will agree to that, got ripped off by DALE FORD (NSW) for $500 for just a service few years ago. Most of things on the list weren't done at all.
Saying that mate got good service from Ford somewhere near Black Town (NSW).

Try $665 for Focus (petrol, auto) 45,000KM service. Got back from overseas and saw the invoice. Made phone call to delaer (Sydney, south of city) and wating for a call back. I have 4 fords and it is unlikely that they will get any of these vehicles in for a service in the future or any sales of new vehicles for that matter.
