I really hope someone takes ownership and sorts this out for you. It must be heartbreaking to spend that much money on a car like this (the sort of car your heart buys) only for the dream to turn so sour. Good luck.

I note that you mentioned FPV and Tremec have looked at the car, and the dealer isn't being helpful; have you tried another dealer to see what they can do for you??

Sometimes things need to be replaced to confirm a fault, a "check" is not a guaranteed way to rule out a faulty part. I've seen what appeared to be perfectly good engine mounts make creaking noises.

Its defintely not the greabox. Tremec didnt make their name by producing gearboxes made of glass. And for all 6 of them to have faults!?!? Unlikely.

If the dealership has failed so many times then maybe its time to go somwhere else to diagnose the problem.

Inform the dealership that they have 1 last chance to fix the problem or supply you with a replacement car, otherwise you will be seeking compensation to pay for getting the real work done.

Strangely enough ive only ever heard of bad stories from dealerships, and the few times ive taken my car(s) there for servicing there has been a problem.

I would be looking into flywheel being machined perfectly [90*] along with drive shaft ballance and c.v / uni joints.. Look real hard at the centre driveshaft coupling etc??? Diff attachment etc Just replacing gear box's is dumb if they really have ??
Not that I don't believe you...

Far out. I feel for you and hope this gets sorted out.

6 gearboxes seems very strange. As others have said if the vibrations are that bad then something must be up?

Being a demo car has it had the titys flogged out of it? As others have said ask them (not that you should have to by any means)

1. Rear suspension, uni joints, diff coupling, diff, axles. suspension bushes (unlikely).

2.Tail shaft and joints.

3. Bolts on the flywheel, input shaft, clutch faces , springs and workings/clips.

4. engine mounts, harmonic ballancer, then if its serious the crank and rods.

5. TYRES has anyone thought to check the rims and tyres for ballancing issues.

6. Brakes. warped rotors or dodgey pads? / Handbrake.

But this is basicly the whole drive line. Should they step up and give him a new car? or another one of similar value/ description ?

This is one nasty monster and I would be ****ed too if i handed that much coin over and i got a lemon.

Just a follow up on this... I believe City Ford (Melb) has just handed this guy the keys to a brand new silhouette F6 (ZF auto) !!
After SIX gearboxes, numerous tailshafts, and multiple replacement of rims & tyres on his manual F6, they have given up!
Beware a "cheap" manual F6 in rapid with 19's

Great to hear, must remember to go to City Ford (assuming it's the one in Melbourne) when it comes time to get a new car.

Agreed, unless there has been some sort of diagnosis that suggested there was a problem with the box.

But wow, what a way for this to finish up!

#145 should be dismantled in the garage of a local church, all parts soaked in holy water whilst biblical verses are chanted and then be incinerated in the presence of a minister! Really does sound like the devil incarnate.

FPV should take this car in for questioning and give this poor bastard a whole new one. No car < 10 years old should EVER user 6 gear boxes.

EDIT: Good to see Ford come to the party and replace the car completely. I certainly do not agree with them selling it again though. That's just openly dishonest, as they've as good as admitted that it's unfixable (the biggest admission an auto maker can give is actually replacing a vehicle!).

This is the 2nd replacement that I've personaly known about. (actually the 3rd if I include Aussiepete's #006 Pursuit)
The 1st was a BA pursuit that had turret A pillar to floorpan misalignment.
On that occasion, FPV's initial response was to strip the cab out, break the misaligned spotwelds, reweld, repaint, and refit the interior. My mate refused, saying NO way was he going to cop a "panelbeaten" new FPV!..
Outcome was Brand new Pursuit (through Bayfords)...
AND, they DID sell the old one (UN panelbeaten).. The purchaser WAS told about the problem and got it for 14k off the new price.

FPV will get to the bottom of the problem, fix it and then sell it. Why would they sell it only to have another owner dissatisfied and make warranty claims.

Default performance dud of the year

What I am about to write may or may not help you. City Ford is a member of a group of dealerships owned by a group called Australian Automotive Group, this company is owned by a South African company Imperial Holdings Limited. The company owns about six Ford Dealerships in NSW - City Ford being one of them.

The Chief Executive Officer of AAG is a guy named Rod Gailey and his personal assistant is a lady named Susan Buckley

Send a letter and describe your problems. I know these names and details are true because I have had dealings with another of their dealerships and with a lot of writing and phone calls I got some justice.

Yep Melbourne one was bought out by Jefferson Ford a few years ago, about the same time that my uncle left the place.

Uni or c.v issue ?? Or alignment as in block, bellhousing, crank, flywheel not square etc??? If it has Dunop's on it I'd suspect them too!!!
