Ours roads are most definitely not pot holed. Yes it's all one lane each way highways outside the main cities, but they're well maintained ****** highways.

RunX, Auris and allex are jap names for corollas Demio is a mazda 2, axela is mazda 3, atenza is mazda 6 and so on. I do repairs for car dealers, out of which a huge amount are importers,so I'm pretty good at knowing what the various names are ect, but I often see customers at various places who don't realise the car there looking at is the same as a NZ New equivalent, can get a bit confusing especially when half the imports weren't available here new and half were but some of them under a different name. |

I'm sure there were plenty of meringue cakes served with cream prior to the colonisation of both NZ & AUS . pretty simple to make but they were never called Pavlova were they? The Pavlova dessert is believed to have been created in honour of the dancer Anna Pavlova in Wellington during her tour of New Zealand and Australia in the 1920s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavlova_(food)

These days the lax used import laws are nothing to rave over. The large majority of imports are appliances on wheels that makes a Camry look good. These hideous JDM models not only have retarded names, they also look retarded, and funnily enough those who laid out their cash (or even worse, ticked up on low deposit) on these mobile road blocks have a driving style that match these retarded cars. If I had $1 every time one of these eyesores held me up while I'm driving a <45 tonne b train down the Kaikoura Coast, Lewis Pass, Desert Road, SH4 King Country I wouldn't need to work 70hr weeks. |

It's funny how the market sells one thing here and another in another nation and another in another place, but they must know best the markets. The big block 2.4L 4 cyl is the best. Driving my mum home on the highway I over took a car and she said what did you do ? that sure is the safe way to overtake. I was like what ? I just went back to 3rd gear at 90km/h. Power !! |

Where I think we really benefit is how we can get pretty much anything certified on the roads here from a modified classic to a ground up custom built car, There is a guy that has just cut the floor out of a XY and fitted it to a EF V8 chassis and it's legal. My XA is low, big wide wheels, pretty loud and cops wave and give me the thumbs up lol We are very lucky in our car scene to have the freedoms we have

They many not be as powerful, but bigger motor must be better right? Think the Nissan pintara, was a bluebird anywhere else but in Aus it got lumbered with that boat anchor of a 2.4, where as overseas markets got the sr20. Same as the sigma, Aus hipo model got the 2.6, admittedly not a bad motor for a big low tech donk, but other markets got the 4g63.. Where it worked well was IMO the British stuff, you guys got the 2.0l escorts, six cylinder cortinas etc. |
