Not bad rocketscientist.

I don't think the OP is coming back anyway. So probably time to move on.

Starting a new business shouldn't be taken lightly. If you can't afford to have a company logo done up, you probably won't have sufficient cash flow to meet your short term obligations. When you factor in the fixed costs you will have to outlay to get the business in a running order, then try add your variable costs like rent, electricity, insurance, telephone expenses, freight, advertising etc you will need a health sum of $$ to get things off the ground.

One of the biggest killers for any new business apart from rent is insurance. Insurance can be exorbitant depending on what industry you are in (eg professional services).

Having said that I wish you the best. So far my favourite logo is the one from Rocketscientist.

give logotournament a go, you set the amount you want to pay and you get a million entries all vying for your winning vote.

A logo represents your whole company. It helps target the demographic you want and is supposed to reflect your company and the way you do business. It goes on your building, letterhead, business cards, website, clothing, stickers, etc (you get the picture) so most probably you'd want it to be a correct representation.

If you are willing to spend little to no money and not hire a professional to do the job for you, then thats your choice. Hopefully you know how to set it up correctly and don't it in a program like AutoCAD.

Why hire an accountant? I know how to manage my own money.
Why hire an architect? I know how I want my house built.
Why hire a builder? Hammering a few nails together can't be that hard....

And FordACE, if you want your partner to continue to have her job, I wouldn't be recommending sites like that.

A graphic designer doesn't simply design logos. There is a multitude of tasks that a graphic designer undertakes, including but not limited to, the design of corporate catalogues, logos, letterheads, web sites, etc.

Nothing wrong with pointing someone in this thread in a particular direction. Especially since people don't seem grateful for the effort people forward to others.

Dude relax !

It's a proposed import motorcycle shop / not some international dealer chain.

Why don't you post some of your "enlightened ideas" - doesn't have to be a fully fledged ready to print logo, just some ideas may help this man out.

Try helping people out (who ask for it) without trying to get their money first, feels good, try it. (Sure, charge clients where necessary to make a living like we all do but it doesn't hurt to help out every now and then.)

As posted before, some here do this for a living and DON"T MIND HELPING FOR FREE.

Help me make a logo Business REWARD Hey guys After 7 years of slaving for a chinese importer of quads and bikes Im going out on my own. www.elstars.com.au is my previous employer

Money is very tight but I need to make a logo. Some company asked for $1500 for a logo plus they will design my letter heads for free.

I think its alot .well alot more than I have.

http://crossfire.z8games.com/index2.aspx?newsid=

I love this logo but I dont want to just steal it so Im asking if any one has a bit of time to make me something simillar. It is a completely different industry in another part of the world so I think simillar would be OK

I can repay in beer or a box (4)of Motul 5100 10-50w motorbike oil.

Its not much but if you have a bit of time I will be in your debt.

too good!

To the OP, it does come across a little insulting you dont want to pay for a service people like kocho & myself try and make a living out of. I'm sure that wasn't your intention though.

I agree with Kocho. If you can't afford to pay for a business logo, you can't afford a business.

Agreed.

I wish I had the time and energy to get so worked up over something that has zero impact on me.
