I can agree with you on that one Simon, my clutch has been pretty 2nd hand for a long time now and at first I was wondering what on earth was wrong to lose over half a second at the strip but no rwkw's, till i drove someone elses with similar mods and a good clutch, that i realised what it was. Now it's slipping pretty bad particularly after last heathcote meet when it was slipping out of gears on the way home

Probably gonna be like that for longer too till I can afford to replace it!

Plus i don't reckon ZAP would want to turn the wick up too much on that car for an event such as this as it has no significance on anything. These cars running 6.0's and now it looks like high 5's the stresses on engine components is just so expensive to waste.
I think your 100% spot on, he didnt need to hurt anything he came to put on a show....

Got the call Thursday afternoon from Nathan "Get ya a$$ down here, you are racing on Saturday"

Some 11th hour new shafts, harness and tailshaft loop and we were ready.

Drove there drove home.

Practice

1. 11.66 @ 121mph 60' 1.78 (clutch okish)
2. 11.58 @ 118mph 60' 1.76 (slipping in between gears)
3. 11.49 @ 120mph 60' 1.78 (mmmm not good still)

Knockout

1. 12.0 @ 118mph 60' 1.94 (absolute slip everywhere)
2. 12.0 @ 118mph 60' 2.02 (clutch GONE!! ) LOST
Simon very consistent good job.....I spoke to Nathan before the heats of DYO he raced against the car i was helping with in the 1st round, look at his ET ticket he cost himself a certain 9 sec pass he went 10.22 on a 1 sec reaction time...

150 car limit (all booked), spoke the promoter last Friday night he is spending $6200 to prep the track properly....

Track prep i hope he didnt pay for that as i have never seen as many loose cars in ages (very dangerous) and a fair few werent happy with the lack of traction (a gold capri from sydney)

Got a call from a mate at the drags said it was big so got a couple of guys and headed out (when i knew BJ wasnt running it)awsome feild of cars and good to cath up with a heap of people i new from years back .The only thing was the lay time when nothing was going on but a few more classes will fix that .
Lets see if BOB tries the same stunt on this promoter as he has done to CRUZIN Mag and their Nostalgia meet ???????????????????????????????????

Also good to catch up with FPVGT there as well
