Agreed the show was too short, but a well scripted program, nice balance of cars from all genres, and I liked the format of the first shootout. That XU1 was a wicked little thing, and the XY was real nice too, but could prove to be a handful during the series, as too the big block StingRay......

Recapping the cars:
1. VL HDT Brock Commodore
2. 5L V8 XU1 Torana
3. Ferrari 360 Modena Twin Turbo
4. 540 Big Block Chev Corvette Stingray
5. Mazda RX7 (800hp....)
6. XY Falcon GT 427
7. Nissan S14 200SX

Now, I'm not sure which order the placed after round one (too many beers last night, a little foggy this early.....I have written it down at home), but I remember 1st, 2nd and last. Can somebody refresh my clouded memory?

The Crossroads VL will win it I reckon.
That ferrari is a promotional vehicle, nothing else really.

It was fairly entertaining program and i'll tune in again next week, never been a big fan of Ian Luff though. If there is a category for engine note the big cube xy has it won in my books. The Ferrari is a showpiece and is probably a pig to drive with huge boost.

wicked show. i agree half hour was a tease. taped it on iq and watched it twice already.
only one flaw from the show was just the one ford. also, big deal if there was a few ethnics on it, they've got the cash to hav the cars.

i liked it remember it's the first series hopefully if they get really good ratings series 2 will be extended to a hour show

1 thing i was looking forward to was watching a Aussie show with-out the yankie yelling in your face influence. Iv seen Ian luff on some other shows and i thought he was going to wreck that for me he didnt seem to bad in that episode though.

i predict the Brock to win and the xy for 2nd 3rd

The biggest thing going against the XY is its a 2 sp powerglide with a big converter.. ok in a straight line or short distance but i think it will struggle on anything course orientated.

my money is on the 200sx....followed by the rotor(with a sorted clutch) and the brock commodore chopping and changing for 2nd/3rd...ngo

Anything to do with corners and the Torana, Corvette, and GT will shart themeselfs...

And the Ferrari has been ruined by that bloke....a low boost tt setup, on standard or challenge rims and wide, wide sticky rubber would have been better.

Just goes to show, money can't buy taste.

The GT did look awesome as it bagged up the rear straight away, but can see it struggling in anything more than a straight line :(

And it seems it can't buy modesty either - from a review of the show:

MOHAMED IBRAHIM doesn't miss a beat when asked which of his six rivals for the unofficial title of Australia's "king of cars" on Fox 8's new revhead reality show, Blood Sweat and Gears, really did have the best car.

"I did. Definitely. I could have bought all the other cars with mine."

One more knob who equates "quality" only to the amount of money spent. I'm sure the producers have deliberately included some of these people in the show, because they know there'll be a ton of people watching to see them have their ar$e$ kicked

i think the xy was the only one with factory issue (well sort of) rims on it...
the ferrari will be a waste of time in anything except the straight line speed tests... will keep up wth the rotor...
i have to say the commy is a tidy looking ride though...
