Just thought about another good thing about AFL, crowd numbers!

Also no, or one in a million years, riots.

Soccer all the way. I don't mind the other codes except league, that is just stupid and all the players seem to be sexist, drug taking, ****heads. Well thats all you hear about in the news (and I guess they over exaggerate everything). Except for sailor now days who seems to be in the news a lot for his drug antics. But Sailor started out playing league.

Soccer is a chics game. I saw some last night and its just so soft and boring. And some of the stupid carrying on by a) good actors or b) complete sooks was so pathetic it was funny. And all that effort for what? A couple of goals in 90 odd minutes? If either of my sons grew up wanting to play soccer and run around behaving like that, I would be horrified.

Rugby of any kind (dont know the difference between League and Union) is just bizarre. Its not football if you throw it 100 times more than you kick it...

AFL for me thanks.

I also love cricket and tennis. I dont like golf.

Rugby League, don't get me started on, the administrators are so messed it up, i doubt it will ever expand. Most likely it will always be a primarily QLD and NSW comp (in that order out: ). People have been predicting the game to fall apart for decades, here and in northern England, but it's still going strong. Soccer, as much as I prefer other sports, will only grow to the point where it will replace AFL as the dominant sport in this country, it's only a matter of time unfortunately. Go to the high schools now and you'll see a new generation of kids who don't want to get a bruise, not want physical contact which means dont want to play football. Alternative? Soccer

I started playing Football from 5n1/2 yrs thanks to the old man. Unfortunately my last season @ 46 yrs playing O35Div 1 has been cut short due to injury.

Come on it's soft game regardless of your talent, bet you won't last a month....

I like all codes apart from League. The game is a joke, the competetion is a joke, generaly I think you could say, well League is a joke. Gee we're not good enough to play world stage Union, better play a 1/2 arsed game of "somethingball." Get a real sport.

I'm assuming that by saying football you mean soccer (I'm not meaning to start a war of words, it just gets confusing thats all). Hmmm, I wouldnt last a month due to my lack of talent, I havn't played for 3years. But if its the physical side you are drawing upon, I fail to see your point, I more then held my own in Rugby League without ever having to be the agressor, I dont see why I wouldnt survive playing soccer?

Take your dress off and have a go maybe? : Not good enough to play Union, why is it then that League is by far the bigger game in this country, and by far has the better players. League dosn't need to poach players to fullfil its own objectives, we just create more.

Football (soccer) by a country mile....the WORLD game!! Union and League 2nd as there is at least some int'l competitions for those. As for AFL.......no one really gives a toss outside Vic let alone Aus, and if more people play soccer than AFL then we would be constantly in the top 10 in FIFA rankings.

AFL is in decline from what I can see. I remember when I was a child seeing other children going to school or out in public wearing their VFL (AFL) jumpers. Plus you'd see children kicking a football in the streets on a regular basis. When I look at today's generation of children there isn't as many of them wearing jumpers or playing football in the streets as there used to be.

Well give it a go seems easy eh ?

The 3 other codes are eroding slowly but surely, immigration alone will make an impact more and more as the years go by.

I am an Aussie, but what I find amusing is how we celebrtae winning the rugby or cricket "world cup"

only 6 or so team play each properly :

Soccer is the real football and the only real world cup. Fact.

I love watching AfL , league, uniion, cricket. Love them al. But there is only one beautiful game :
go the socceroos

I have no doubt whatsover if I trained hard enough I could get myself to a decent enough level to compete, im 19 and still young. But fact of the matter is, I prefer playing RL, far more enjoyable, and satisfying.

I rest my case lol
I never really watched it nor got into playing it, but yes, the game is tackle stop, repeat x 5, kick the ball...tackle, stop, repeat...

union: tackle, ruck/maul formed, games still running, next phase, next phase, next phase.
none of these wussy throw in or scrums either.

Well as a law student, I must say your case is extremely weak and is easily picked apart. Tell me, what is the max of phases reached consecutively in a game, 7 or 8 if your lucky, the average? 3 or 4 at the most

AFL (what can you expect I'm from Vic), than it would be Union (i can appreciate the game playing it for a couple of seasons)& Soccer. Not a real fan of League, tried getting into it but I find it boring.

But at the end of the day I'd rather watch the motor racing.

Oh, sorry i forgot AFL, the game only played in one country. It is a fair game though. The only game in the world wher if you try really really hard and miss the goal then they give a point for trying.

Poor little boy missed, better give him a point before he cries.... e

I've played both Rugby League and Soccer. Soccer is soft as it comes! I only played it to do a sport with a friend and the amount of girly men that play that game is incredible. I would vote for Union aswell but could only choose one option.
