Holding is rewarding.
BTC is trading $7300AUD today. It hurts my heart if I see someone selling their bitcoin.. It is only going up. |

A misunderstanding by many is that they cannot afford to buy a Bitcoin at the current value of AUD$7,000 plus.
It's not like buying shares, in that you must buy a parcel or at least one. You don't have to buy a whole Bitcoin... You can buy just a percentage of one. So if you like you could invest $100, $500 or any amount you can afford. So if the price of one Bitcoin goes up by 50%... Then your initial $100 investment is also worth $150 in Bitcoin. |

A Bitcoin-type of currency will not survive for one reason only: those that hold the real, tangible wealth of the world will not allow a monetary system that denies them their cut and takes away their ability to keep the rest of the world in a modern day serfdom. If and only if they find a way to make blockchain not only maintain their wealth and control, but increase it, will it ever be allowed to replace the current crop of fiat currencies.

Blockchain technology is interesting, and may be the next big thing.
Is Bitcoin Google or Ask Jeeves?

Some have been saying that for years.
Bitcoin has managed to survive for 10 years. It is not going anywhere. It is fundamentally designed to go up in price... Quote:

But what if the illuminati / Rothschild clan are really the anonymous founders or secret backers of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, and hedging their bets against the future crash of the US$ and fiat currencies or its all part of the future "new world order" and monetary system. |

If it were a creation of the financial elite, there would be some sort of backdoor or other way for them to be able to manipulate at will. As far as anyone can tell, no such backdoors exist.

No one can predict the future, but it's fun trying. I'm old, most of my life was per internet. People said the internet was the next big thing. When the internet started I could have invested in Google or Ask Jeeves, I didn't. I understand the next big thing. Blockchain technology may be the next big thing, like the internet was in my living memory. Bitcoin is a side player in the whole next big thing. It could be like Google or it could be like Ask Jeeves IMHO....

This is not a prediction.
This is based on mathematical formulas. Bitcoin is not a side player. Bitcoin is the one! Blockchain was created by the same team. Centralised companies will also adapt these technologies. Why didn't you invest in Google then? Why can't you learn from your mistakes and invest in this "next big thing"? Coulda, woulda, shoulda won't help. You can either plant your seeds now or you will regret it tomorrow. The choice is yours. Quote:

I'm in IT and whilst I can appreciate the technology behind the blockchain concept, the fervent speculation associated with the currencies based on it isn't conducive to something that has to be stable enough to act as a medium of exchange and be a store of wealth.

Why are you being so obtuse? Are you a troll? You think bitcoin is the next big thing. I know no one knows the future, move on nothing to see here.

I invested into so called "great" alt coins two months ago, Neo, TenX, CVC, IOT, STRAT. Right now i'm down 50%, i'm not convinced at all. It's crazy how volatile the market is, i've watched coins go up 4000% in a day and i've watched them plummet to nothing and then recover in 6 hours. I'm unsure whether to cash out now and keep my 50% or just hold on.

Easy to get hyped and smash your money into alts..
I would be really cautious with any alt coin. In the long run, you better hold bitcoin as it has been going up Quote:

It must be a coincidence that any 'person' responding re: bitcoin sounds copied and pasted. My advice is not to drink the coolade.
