One of the companies i work for has a number of company cars.. We couldnt give too shits if they were flogged, but wish the employees would keep them clean inside / out and actually get them maintained when they were due for it! (out our expense)..

Yeah right.

When you have a beomouth travelling a foot from your rear bumper at 100kph, I think it is a matter of mitigating the problem with the least amount of danger when pulling over isn't an option. I didn't say I put my arm out at full stretch, just inline with the side mirror to keep it steady. I don't see how that makes me "as bad as the other driver" seeing as I'm the the one whose going to get shunted into oncoming traffic if I have to brake suddenly.

Oh I think you do want an argument and I'll let you grapple with your commonsense instead. I bet you never drive one handed either.

This is why we have Ambulances!
From first hand experience it is sometimes quicker to drive yourself. Down here the ambos are volunteers with 3 full time paramedics. So rostered on is 1 volly and one paramedic. The Volly may have a fulltime Job (my boss) etc, so when a priority 1 goes through they still have to get to the depot or be picked up. Luckily my work is 1min max from the depot. Sometimes the ambo's are out getting lunch or shopping. They don't just sit around all day and wait. In metro areas they do.

On topic, I would report. I drive long distances in the company vehicle and am amazed at the passing manouvers of people. I had a Western power guy almost hit me head on. Came over the hill and "HELLO" here is a western power 4WD coming at me. I myself set the cruise control at 112km/h and just cruise.

If I called to complain about every stupid motorist who was driving any type of marked vehicle, I’d have to hire a full time receptionist.

why not just call the company, but not give any specific details about who may have been driving.
if the boss gives a sh.. they will then have a chat to his employees.
you're then not directly 'dobbing' someone in.

have had two serious ones both involving B Double truck drivers. First one was a guy who charged through a red light (had been red for prob 30 secs) if not for my Mrs seeing him and yelling he would have gone straight through and over us. Frightened the crap out of me so I turned and followed him to get his rego number. Went to the local Police and reported him, they said no worries we have a TOG out that way we will get them to pull him up.
Second was a clown in a milk tanker who thought it would be amusing to tailgate my Mrs on her way home. Sat right behind and when a car came the other way he dipped the lights then put them straight back up again. In the end she had to pull over as couldnt see. Pulled out behind him and got his rego number then rang me at work when she got home. I rang the companies transport dept and explained what time, place etc and what happened. Guy said no worries I know which truck that is and will explain to him if he doesnt want to follow the rules he will be finished here.

Im sure we could all complain, about Truck Drivers that have the option of using alternative routes, yet find it nessessary to drive through the center of the CBD or built up commecial areas. Picking and choosing between one lane or one and half, and basically pushing their way into lanes causing motorists to back off out of the way due to their size.

I had an incident a few weeks ago when this bloke in a ba ute came flying around the corner and deliberately sped up as I was trying to cross the road. I mean he was flooring it! He sped down into an underground car park to the shopping center. I was f,,king furious. I found his car and took a photo of his plate, then proceeded to find this . Sure enough I spot him in the bottle shop with two slabs of pure blonde on his shoulder. The dumb f,,k was wearing his company shirt with their logo all over it. I was going to confront him but he probably would have decked me. The next day I rang the company and spoke with his boss. They thanked me for the call because it wasn't the first time they have received complaints about this person. They ensured me that he would be given some sort of disciplinary action as it was giving the company a bad name.

I've dobbed a guy in once for some really bad tailgating lane changing, and reported another the police another for some seriously 'affected' driving.
I've been tempted many times, when you see a LINFOX truck on your bum when you're already going 80km/h in a 60km/h freeway construction zone....Melbourne is pretty bad for tailgaters / double lane changers etc etc etc..........big trucks, tradies in their vans, there are a lot of idiot drivers out there.....

EDIT - I want to qualify my remarks by stating that everybody was going 80kmh in that freeway zone......Monash upgrades!! The truck just roared up behind me.....can be pretty intimidating!!!

Love the read and need to add my 2c

I worked fro Telstra for 12 years and had one of those “Telstra values Safe driving “Please call 1800 dob me in line.

As it was said a few posts up, people can be very vindictive and most times people would just open there Telstra phone bill and dob me in for not waving thanks while merging in frustration of Telstra costs etc and poor service.

It really got beyond a joke at times, people will complain about anything.

In your case if it happened and your felt your safety was in damage then YES, ring the company.
