At least they were nice enough to give you a heads up rather than fling you a bill for something and anything else they feel like.

They are not all pedantic.. He was just letting you know he was there and to slow down.. Possibly doing 5 to 10 klrs over the speed limit??
In his view ?? Your driving safe even though breaking the law..
Funny thing is a warning like this.. You take MORE notice of than a ticket..
I remember the days when 50% of the time we received warnings.. Back then we where REAL nice!! Hope we could be let off with a warning...[Not that it hapens in Vic from my trips down there]
Chances are it was an older officer too ???

this thread was over by the first post. all the rest has been awesome, sidesplitting comedy.

i like that.

so yeah, either your headlights are misaligned (one of them a possum-spotter?) or you were doing a few clicks over.

funny story
was out west once, doing about a dollar thrity in a stupid hyundai tucson, come round a bend, coming the other way was a cop in a landbruiser with a sidemount radar, flashed his lights at me, in my rear vision i saw him apply his brakes, he looked to try and turn around, but the road had no shoulders just massive ditches and he was never gonna be able to turn around. eventually got to the fire station and hid the car around the back

When I was a teenager too many years ago.. In a small town in N.Z the local knew me well .. Mr Keen was his name..
I was NEVER booked by him and his 253 H.Q Holden.. [WOW]
I couldn't count the number of times I would see him follow me out of town..
The roads there have fences/ hedges approx 10 mtrs from side of road, dairy farm area..
I would do quick handbrake turn at 80 kph just around a corner, come back other way passing him in opposit direction..
I had a well sorted 2300cc Escort which I rallycrossed etc...

May I refer to your thread last year where lots of other people were flashing you because of your lights - yet you were thinking of adding fog lights too?

People with poorly adjusted lights OR fog lights on when its not foggy need some bubba loving IMHO.....flashing aint no subsitute for some public provided bubba lovin

It's a warning because they don't have time to pull over every single person they see doing minor things wrong, otherwise after leaving the station they would never make it past the first double lane roundabout. Can also be they have something more pressing to attend to but just not pressing enough to have siren/lights on, ..burglary report after the fact, relief of other cars/detectives at a scene, carry out a warrant, new burger release at McDonalds, who knows the list goes on and on. Also may already have someone arrested in the back of car and be more concerned with transporting them. Not worth the time to pull you over for a few k's over the speed limit but a flash of the lights will make you pull your head in.

Must of been a flash to say: You are driving a little over the limit but I cant be **edited**to pull you over to fill out the paper work!

Seriously though, My time in driving on W.A highways, you can be flashed by the cops driving over the speed limit - but only if its no more then 10km on the high way.

Its their way of saying slow down - but im not going to pull you over for a meezly $50 warning fine

Years ago i had a cop on a bike pull up along side , toot his horn then point at me with his left hand and he looked like he was going off his nut inside his helmet and then accelerated away ???

I couldn't have been speeding because i was simply following traffic and i couldn't have cut anyone off because i had been sitting in the inside lane for kilometers

I have no idea what i may have done wrong.

Maybe the cop dropped his Krispy Kreme donut off the dash and bumped the headlight stalk as he was diving to save the donut from landing on the floor.

Edit: Ralliart, didn't we give you the right answer on Whirlpool

It happened to me once as well, it could have been because:

1. I was going about 45 in a 40 zone (that really shouldn't be 40 anyway).

2. My car was a piece of crap.

3. I was a p plater :P

4. They were trying to make me crash into there car _
