It's astounding that cars like Corolla which ruled the sales only a few years ago aren't even in the top 10.

Sadly its not all as simple as people think though.
That and no luxury-car-tax on dual cabs/commercial vehicles. Buy a high-end SUV, and you pay the government more tax, buy the high-end double cab, you pay less. Simple.

Anyone got numbers for Amarok?

Saw one in the wild for the first time this week. Only from the rear though. I think the front looks good so was keen to see it in the flesh but didn't get the chance. I like how VW have just tried to tone down the boxiness.

Not sure I'd pay the VW tax though.

So with 8,000 Ranger/Everest sales last month, I wonder if Ford has reached full capacity
with its additional shipping from Thailand or can they push it even higher?

I wonder what Thailands capacity is..8000/month is obviously 96K, and from memory Thailand was similar in sales to Australia before this jump to 8K/mth?

Edit:
So Australia at 8k/month is taking up a huge chunk of production meaning supply could be a problem for other markets or we have reached our allocation limit.

In 2021, Ford announced its largest single investment in Ford’s 25-year history in Thailand with a US$900 million (approx. THB 28 billion) investment to modernize its Thailand manufacturing operations both at its wholly-owned Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) and joint-venture AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT) truck plant. Part of the Ford+ plan for growth and value creation, the investment supports production of the next-gen Ranger pickup truck and Everest SUV. Total production capacity of FTM is 135,000 units/year, while AAT’s combined production capacity stands at 270,000 units/year.

Two plants?
That’s a lot of capacity……

The biggest restriction in the first 12 months production was the 24,000 supply limit on V6 Diesel.
Thailand must also be getting on top of its supply issue from Chinese parts suppliers.

Correct South Africa for Amarok.

Our PHEV Rangers will come out of South Africa too apposed to Thailand.

I reckon at 8000 cars a month we are probably maxed out. Things are cooling dramatically with new cars, another 3 -4 months and my guess is you you will nearly be able to buy a Ranger off the forecourt. 2024 will be an interesting year.

I just got a Ranger Wildtrak and Platinum off the yard (both cancelled orders). Cant be fussy with options or colours tho.
