According to the handbook yes an XR8 can have ULP put in, but I have never been game to try it and tend to just stick with the premium.

On the grand scheme of things when it costs close to $100 to fill, the six dollars I would save isnt really here nor there realll! :

The fex seem to have a fairly decent fuel consumption, especially if driven on open roads.

8.26L/100km out of my last tank, which was Vortex 98. That's combined average with a/c on 90% of the time.

Filled it up with BP Ultimate now.

I get 500 - 550 a tank on average and my best is 640 inc 50ks with the fuel light on, always use PULP and my gf drives it a lot which helps cause I tend to rev it a widdle bit harder that her (tho she has a bad habit of racing ppl at the lights, closet rev head I think)

i only get about 450 out of mine. That's driving round the city n stuff. I'd love to get more out of it. It normally costs around $45-$50 depending on which petrol I use.

I can get over 550km if I don't get slowed down through town too much on my commute. I got over 800km out of the 306 bombing down the Hume after filling up with 98 in Wagga, pegged to 120km/h for 4 hours.

well im at canberra atm lol and i drove my fez from fairfield to here via wollongong then through jamberoo which (i may be mistaken) is called maquarie pass, then through kiama up through berry then through the might Kangaroo Valley, up onto the federal highway again thenstraight to canberra, it was awesum, nice comfortable ride, excellent power to over take 110 @3250 140 @4000 hehehehehehe. mind you would of been better if ihad a sixth gear to drop the revs, but i got a really good mileage so far 350k with only 4bars down. im going the same way back to hehehehehehe.

Tanks are 45litre but unless you drive with the petrol guage below empty(not having anybars) 38L is about as much as your gonna fit in.

Hi, anyone tried United's 98 w/ ethanol?

I filled up my fez yesterday, I swear it's got more poke. It doesn't want to drop off so bad at 6K, and just seems to pull a lot harder.

Of course, it could be just that the engine is freeing up a bit, nearly 2200kms

What does an auto Fiesta get?

I'm currently driving a C3 Auto, and giving it heaps of gas... as it is quite sluggish. Since yesterday it has 13.8L/100kms! Considering the label reads 7.0L/100kms, I'm shocked. That's more then the Fiesta AND Clio

Teki, mine's an auto and my fuel economy is around 8.8-9 litres/100kms. I drive my car normally, I don't thrash my Fiesta.

How do you find out? I also have the Auto but would have no idea how much it consumes fuel. Take in mind, mine's the WP (?) lx.

Like I said, I haven't said everything that happened - hence I get a little annoyed when people call it a **** box.

I did a calculation about 1 months ago. Put in Shell Optimax 98 Full Tank and drove it until the fuel light came on. I think i got about 550kms out of it or about 8.2L/100kms.

Driving style varied tho. Since that overall consumption has been below average, but the car feels more lively so some reason. Seems like its got a lion under the hood. Id love to drive some one elses auto fiesta just to see the difference. Any Takers?

I just clocked up 600+Km on the WQ's 45L tank, using 98 + 95. All highway stuff, from home to the goldcoast and back. Pretty gentle with the right foot tho.

That's what, a bit under 7.5L per 100 kays? Not bad - the best I had seen before that was 550ish.

(I hit a hail storm coming back thru childers! Bastard! No damage that I can see, will wash her tomorrow and find out... that's the last time I pray to that particular god : )

last time i filled up with 91, I went straight onto the highway and clocked up 120ks at 100kph then went back to city suburbs driving. I got 280kms out of the first quarter of the tank and had done 580km before the fuel light came on at 80km DTE. that was my personel best.
