Anyway... The ones I can remember off the top of my head - some of which I went to because I got free tickets (can't say no to a free concert, even if I'm not a big fan and don't know their songs, as long as it's a live band, I'll be there)... Metallica (Best show EVER! Support band "Horsehead" from memory were pretty good too, was suprising how apthetic the crowd were for most of Metallicas set...) Fear Factory (awesome show!) Midnight Oil (Hard not to **** myself laughing at Peter Garret "dancing" LOL) Pearl Jam Incubus Roxette (only because my brother paid for my ticket, and that was a long time ago, LOL) I wish I'd gone to see Pantera, Sepultura (back in the max cavalera days), and Offspring, oh well, at least there is still a chance of me going to see Offspring live...

The Russian tour video is the best!
Speaking of great videos, the RATM video. What I wouldn't give to be in that mosh pit in Germany when they played Bulls on Parade.... |

I went to a "5ive" concert with some friends, after they begged me to go, as they already had bought tickets and their parents still wouldn't let them go unless someone else went too.
They promised that if I went to that with them, then when a band I wanted to see came out here they would come with me to return the favour. 4 months later Tool came out, I called them up and told them I was gonna call in that promise, and was told to get stuffed. That I was stupid to ever think they had any intention of honouring that promise. The only thing that made me stupid was continuing to hang out with them for the next 9 years. But they did the same thing to me once too often, and now they can get stuffed.

I got left minding drinks and bags while they danced in other rooms and ignored me. I went to Autosalon (YUK!!) I did plenty of things that didn't interest me, beacuse they wanted to, and thats what you do for your friends. Whenever I said I want to go to a goth club for my birthday, NYE or just cause it was going to be a big night. I got told they "wouldn't be seen dead in a place like that", so as far as they were concerned I could go by myself. That was after saying to my face "Yeah, you organise it, and we'll go". She took 3 steps sideways and whispered to someone else "As if!!" But when the turd hit the air circulation device a few weeks ago, all they could remember was that I didn't go to someone's birthday, or I pulled out of a roadtrip after they had booked it because I couldn't get out of work (none of them work full-time, I do), and how I was the selfish one because all I care about is myself and my car. Then they got REALLY nasty, using things from private conversations to put me down, but not once did they deny that what I was saying was true.:

I'm an old man now(30), but in my younger days, I went out a bit
Metallica Red Hot Chilli Peppers Anthrax Slayer Pearl Jam Ugly Kid Joe Guns and Roses Joe Satriani Rollins Band Spearhead Tea Party Tool I think I saw Megadeth, but can't be sure System of a down The Meanies The Hard Ons Mantissa A mate dragged me along to see Jethro Tull, they were actually quite good Page and Plant went alright too If there is a heaven, and if I make it there, I expect a personal concert from Jeff Buckley to make up for missing him here. Janis Joplin can be the support act, and Hendrix can play for them both. |
