I will bet anything it is the Coil as many have mentioned. Cheapest are $110 delivered on Ebay or second hand $25 in the for sale section on this forum.

On the subject of coils can you buy aftermarket like MSD? Seen a few guys fit these to that other make of car and they respond well on Gens, sorry for swearing.

I don't know a lot about coil packs but I'd think that a pack for a US V6 would have a different firing order to our Falcon .

+1 for the ignition leads.......I had the exact same problem 3 months ago.

Tried Fuel Filter, Plugs...as soon as the leads swapped over the problem was gone

If you've had it for 4 years the Plugs are definitely due to be changed, these you can do yourself.
If (after fitting new plugs) it still plays up call your mechanic and ask how much to supply and fit a set of leads. If it's still got the original leads they will be due for replacement now anyway.

Then if you're still having problems I'd look at the coilpack.

Spark plugs and leads certainly wont cost anywhere near as much as the oil leak!

My order:
plugs
full tank of ultimate and a bottle of injector cleaner
leads
fuel sock
clean TB/ISC
coilpack or injectors changed/cleaned, i can't decide
then do the other one
fuel pump
if all of that fails, come back to us and we'll collectively scratch our heads

At night open your bonnet with the car running and check for a spark jumping from one lead to another. It will happen with the miss and only occur for a split second so you need to have your eyes peeled.

If this is the problem leads is definetely your problem.

You should be able to do plugs and leads yourself for $110. 6x$4 for plugs, $85 for 9mm QIL Leads.

Hi mr hardware... I dont have a garage to do it in or any tools. Plus my mechanic is great and hes going to check the fuel filter etc.. it will cost me a bit more but at least its done. and they let me pay it off it its anymore, also they dont charge me for fixing small things like electric windows, head light, handbrake etc.... so I will stick with them i been going there for 6 yrs lol

absolutely mate, and i completely and fully advocate anyone using a mechanic if they so choose. There are too many turkeys on here who have 0 idea but think they can do everything themselves just by posting a two-line question on the forums. This ain't the RACQ

obviously you need to be mechanically minded, but i think theres nothing better than getting elbow deep in your car, and working it all out yourself. sure theres times you need a helping hint or guidance when you stumble, but thats what makes good forums great. Sound advice, with a decent attitude.

I find it extremely rewarding working on my own cars.

NOW QUESTION

Will the leads make the car go funny while im driving it.... when i put my foot down just a tad its shuddering a bit still... Hes going to check my fuel filter and pump, to me its like somethings blocked im still worried its the trans.... BUT shouldnt be... I take it in this week when I get paid deff.... Thanks everone you guys are great

It is easier to do the leads on a hoist, put them on up top then feed them thorugh, raise it up and plugem in. My last spark plugs were iridiums, i believe these are worth the extra, but shop around. Leads, i have a brand new set of Champions sitting here and a Yates belt. PM me if you want them, i am putting on QIL leads.
