Yeah that is what I do with both our cars. Unless I do alot more travelling for work, which means I'll have to tor w$40 or $50 in midweek.

Oh, and change my driving habots due to rising fuel prices? HAHA I just went from a 6 cyl to a V8. Does it answer that question?

I always fill to the top. Stopped looking at fuel prices a long time ago and don't really notice the cost.

I just close my eyes now and fill her up! Pay, then leave and never speak of the prices again....

More worried about interest rates then fuel

I'm *extremely* lucky that I don't have to commute in my car, I usually put in $80 a fortnight, I add extra if I'm going on a big trip on the weekend. Tuesday nights are good for top ups.

i have been putting the odd $30 in here or there i have found. i refuse to fill the tank if its more than 145cpl. only use 1/3 tank getting to work for the week, so its not so bad.

used to always fill it up every time..

I fill several times a week until it goes click.

Last week filled three cars and a boat.

EF 6 cyl = $78, will require refill early next week.

XR8 = $82 on saturday, $90 yesturday, and will need to refill over the weekend

F150 = $125 which will last two boat tows to ramp and back.

Boat = $560 which will last maybe two fishing trips.

That's in one week.

Ha, ha, one of the trucks that runs meal into work averages 620lt per day.......

Economy = approx 2km per lt, it's a cat with the wick wound up producing nearly 700hp.

Whats the go with philxr8's comment about if you let it get lower than 1/4 itll suck up from the tank.

What a crock. It picks up from the bottom of the tank the whole time so if theres crap in the tank itll pick it up empty or full.

I try to fill up on a tuesday as it does save a small $8 ish. But if you need it you get it. I dont have this car to save on fuel costs If i did I would be having a little turbo diesel or "Pirus" haha.

I will fill to the max no matter the prices, unless the old credit card has copped it already and only has $20 left

This poll is not entirely correct...I do care about petrol prices but I have to fill up the same amount every week or I'll have to do it twice

I put in $50.00 at a time mostly unless it is cheaper however that rarely happens in the sticks lol

It has been between $1.40- $1.55 here for some time now & did not look today so it may be $1.60, we are always dearer here than in the City.

60-80, I refuel every 8 or so days. When I'm real low. I hate watching those numbers roll up.

If the car is empty, it gets filled up. I have never subscribed to only getting 1/2 a tank or whatever.

My EA was almost on the red so i just went and put $80 in it and i am now the happy owner of 3/4 of a tank of crap. I don't even look at the price. Cars need petrol to run so if it needs it, i get it. Without it i cant get to work. If i don't work, me or my family don't eat. If we don't eat, we don't S***, If we don't S*** we die. Thats my Philosophy. High prices have hurt us Yes, but we need petrol, so we cut down on other things to compensate.

if you run LPG its even less, about 500 grams per litre, and assuming you have a bigger tank - say 80L so thats 40kg.

not a whole lot in that - considering if you average the weight over the time you are driving, you are carrying an average of 25kg of fuel, not a lot of weight! less than your little bro or that alpine stereo with amps and massive woofers.

your more likely to cost yourself more money from consistently having less than a quarter of a tank, you are giving the steel in the tank more chance to oxidise (rust), if you have an electric fuel pump in tank you run the risk of burning it out quicker, picking up more crap from the bottom of the tank or even the possibility of your car not starting if you park on an incline (had this happen to our commwhore, the angle was only like 5-10 degrees, hopeless....)

also in a place like i do, where the fuel stations close at 8pm, if you decide you wanna go somewhere, you need to already have that fuel or you're staying home for the night.
I work at the servo and it just seems so silly to be coming into the fuel station almost everyday of the week for your 10 or 20 bucks, if your sucked in to buying anything while you there at the ridiculous prices they charge you're better off going to a fuel station as little as possible!
Hmmm, where to start with answering this idiotic reply of yours.

1: My car does not run on LPG, an extra 44kg is 44kg too much.

2: I don't have a alpine stereo system if you actually to read down at my signature.

3: if you botherd to look across to your left under my avatar you would see I live in Melbourne, dunno if you heard of it, but it aint a little town!

4: 250 crossflows do not run an electric fuel pump

5:Again if you actually botherd to look down at your moniter at my signature you would realize that the Cortina is NOT my daily driver.

So think before you go bashing the keyboard typing up some negitive rubbish.

For those of you exploiting the 4c vouchers from our major supermarkets and thinking you're getting a great deal.. I hope you're only buying their specials.. WWorths/Safeway don't do this because they're nice people.
