when i was a kid i use to go with dad every summer to Newcastle Speedway at tomago. Every sat morning was to load up cars and spares and finish sun morn about 3-4am. Loved it and go to the same amount of speedway as i do V8. Lismore is good and grafton is good. I do try to get to Gilgandra when it is on and i work the weekend to go to it. Archerfield is a dump cause they wont spend any money on it and parramatta is getting too dear.
Fortunately i can see bikes race at kempsey tho very few races on a year. Speedway is too expensive and insurance for tracks is too high. go the sliders

I go to the Granite Rock speedway in Bairnsdale a fair bit....Was there on Boxing Day night. The president of the Bairnsdale speedway Gary Severs runs the local Bridgestone tyre centre here in Lakes Entrance.

There was an old speedway (Baypark) where I live which closed in 1995 for a housing development. Dad used to take us there when we were kids, we used to drive straight into the pits and get in free because his company was a track sponsor.
The new Baypark Speedway opened in 2001 which is one of the best facilties in the country. It's funny that at one point, the MP of the city happened to have built and currently owned the track, and our Mayor and another member of the council both raced saloon cars. Earlier this year my brother entered 6 cars in a demolition derby of which I drove one. We've also entered other cars over the years. I go to as many meetings here as I can, I've also been to Paradise Valley in Rotorua a few times which is an hour away and a few meetings in Huntly which is just out of Hamilton. One particular meeting there was when ex NZ Saloon champ and Caddy to Tiger Woods hosted a Charity Stock car race which included him, Tiger Woods (Yes, him), Greg Murphy and Paul Radisich as drivers.

raced up until 2 seasons ago. My local tracks are wangaratta, corowa, mt beauty and myrtleford.
Still got my race car, but need to sell it. It's a LC torana, 235 stroker, triple dellorto's, supra 5 speed, mini spooled 6:1 9". runs in a local class called vic sport sedans.(pretty much run what ya brung class, no forced induction or injection). It's put more than it's fair share of 350's/ V8's too shame. |

back in the old days they used to dump 44's of old oil on the track,(coupla weeks before racing) to keep the dust down, It was sweet as to race on. surprisingly sticky once it "slicked up". |

I used to go to HIDDEN VALLEY Speedway in Darwin every week it was on,fantastic night out, they had speedway solo's and sidecar motorbikes as well as v8 sprintcars , super sedans , midgets and the street sedans just an awsome night, moved to QLD and nearest is Maryborough speedway,so ****week its embarrassing no v8 super sedans or v8 sprintcars buy yeah horah they have about 6 races of junior stuff and the small dwarf cars (the most exciting of the night) apparently this is all due to the track being too small so only big special events will have the big boys toys so i go about twice a year.

The 50k at PCR was washed out last night. Its ment to be on tonight as long as it doesnt rain again. The other day at the speedway they had a wing less sprintcar doing some wheel packing and just being on show. Would be interesting to see how they go in a race and if there runing 410's like the winged cars are now.
Does any one know whats happening with the speedway thats ment to be made or is being made at the moment at Eastern Creek is it still happening??? Would be great to have another track around since so many have closed in the last few years |

Went to Baypark last night for the NZ Sprint Car Championship final, 22 cars and $30k prize in the 25 lapper in which there was amazingly only one yellow flag which came out on the second to last lap for a seperated front wing. After the restart there was a huge 2 car crash (so damaged they both had to be forklifted off) which nobody saw because all eyes were on the winner crossing the line.
The dust was attrocious because they kept the track dry for grip, you couldn't even tell the cars apart through the thick haze. But it made for excellent fast racing.
