As noted elsewhere, we have an issue with one of the modifications we currently run that is stopping us from doing the upgrade to 3.8.x which is where we need to be before Tapatalk will work.

It isn't in the too hard basket - it is in the "it will get resolved when there is enough spare time to fix it" basket.

dont hold your breath i been waiting from the date i joined. dont see why it cant be put on. heaps of other forums have it.

I think it's the fact this board is running old vbulletin software, I think I saw a thread explaining that they weren't going to the next version up (4?) but are trying to go to the higher 3.x version that will work ok with Tapatalk.

Funny now it prompts you from a mobile device, it must have worked at some time.

I am sure russ is working on the updates but as the old saying goes

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE THAT WAIT

I to am waiting for this to come into play but due to this site is not russ's everyday job/business he gets most of the updates done after his normal work hours ie he does them during the slower site usage times

and I can say that if it wasnt for russ and other admin we all would not be here

Ive been getting the prompts on my iphone for some time now. They stopped for a while but have started again in the last couple of days ?
It becomes annoying as you have to keep cancelling the request to check out Tapatalk almost everytime you click on a new thread or link.....hopefully it gets resolved once and for all soon.

Please get rid of this app it is ******* useless. It cost me 6 dollars for this ****.

I wouldn't mind except I get the popups on my iPhone through a browser even after buying this **** and the app itself doesn't work for this forum.

I've had it for 5 months or so and it's worked a couple of times.

That is an issue, it pops up on mobile devices and if you don't know any better and buy it it still won't work here, but you can use it for many other boards.

Got sucked into that months ago and then realised AFF was not compatible......
But yes - its works a treat on stacks of other sites and makes smart phone surfing much easier.

Glad to find this thread. I bought it for an android tablet and figured I was just too stupid to configure it to work. Don't know how many times I tried. I actually feel better realizing that I was trying to fix the unfixable.

Is the update still on the cards or has it been thrown on the back-burner?
If the technical constraints blocking taptalk being switched on are still present, i'd love to help / volunteer to fix, otherwise whenever you get it done will still be great. Cheers.

No - the reason for the outage last weekend was a further upgrade to the test server after the previous issue was resolved. We are in test mode for the next week or so after which the live forum will be updated and that update will then be a version that is supported by Tapatalk.

we are still using

vBulletin® Version 3.5.8

when the testing of the new version is finished and russ migrates all the stuff over to it then you will get taptalk to work with this site

Exactly and it's much more improved than a perceived "0.00002 nanoseconds", it's not about the speed, it's about the formatting on a mobile device, typically a phone, though I use it on my iPad as well for Forums that support it.

My own board has the plug in.
