This is a bit silly, you can go miles over 300 rwkw with the VE 6 litre cam/tune only and that's no where near 5 grand worth of mods. No doubt the figures on all the other cars I don't know about are just as messed up, You might not run an 11 with such a car but you would be alot closer than 12.8

Point is they had 10 times more money spent on them than they needed and the Ford didn't. When in actual life the costs to modify ect to the same level are about the same. As seen at the drag strip every week

yes i tend to agree. It does seem weird. Ive been reading this thread with sceptasism wondering what the real point of the whole exercise is when in reality everything is based roughly on this or that. I think it would only be worth it if (for eg) much more reliable dyno runs were done. Some of the money spent just wont happen in real life. Aswell as the thought that every single different tunner will get massive difference in how they get performance out of a car, deppending on how much rnd they have done.
Maybe a budget cap for mods and or cars would be better. It almost looks like a gaggle of cars bundled together...some super handlers,some drag weapons and others horsepower-money wasting comadores. (Whose gunna spend 100g if they know its goin down the track)we might call that the drift car in the group.......hmm...my opinion only |

Mmmm. ..... there's lots of interesting info here, but probably tries to cover too broad an area (1/4 mile, braking, handling). A good job to throw out the handling side.
Choice of cars and also the range of mods (and costs) is arguably random. Eg: Mods to g6et: 2 x 10" rims ($500), 2 x MTs ($400), 1 x baseball bat to roll rear guards ($200) : $2K would probably get the same ET... ws |
