Like I always say, democracy doesn't work. The whole government should be shot and 1 person and his ministers be assigned to run the country in the best interests of the people. If they don't do a good job, they should just be shot until someone good is found.

If one race track, or organised legal race is canned due to this legislation, planing department of Vic is morley liable for any road accidents/deaths attributed to road racing. I hope the departement heads and officers of the department hang their head in shame and guilt at the lives they have sacraficed.

I'd be more than happy to be the one who pulls that trigger. In fact, I'm willing to replace them all together with myself. I will appoint my ministers to help run things but I'll be the "Fuhrer" so to speak. Yes, I like this idea!

You poor Vics. I just cannot believe that Bracks and Co are so anti motor vehicle. Maybe someone should let the organisers of the GP know and get them to put a little pressure on the idiots, seems that they are a little hypocritical to me.

http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/dse/nrenpl...256D190029E234

By the looks of it, the new laws appear to reduce the amount of land that could be possibly used for motorsport or even motoring related recreational use as new zones are introduced with possible restrictions.

Looks like another group is disappointed with the handling of this issue as well

Interesting. When i visited the petition page i knew the name under "who to contact" Bruce Dupe owns a property about 10ks from my place which i believe was purchased from my auntie. He is looking at setting up a pretty full on private moto x and enduro track on the property which is situated in some pretty steep hilly terrain. Basically this is an issue in which he has a financial interest.

I believe a year or 2 ago he lodged an application for a planning permit to create this facility. As far as i am aware it was for a moto x track and enduro circut that he was going to basically build, and then charge people to ride it. Was going to hold race days, corporate stuff, was even talk of having a heli pad so people could fly down from melbourne to ride it. Think he had big plans, that were met by many objectors. There are a number of surrounding farms that would be affected by the big increase in traffic, and also the noise. I rode bikes, and dont mind people getting out on their bike for a few hours or whateveer, but to hear 2 strokes nenging around all day and big 4 strokes belting around a track all day every day, or even just all weekend every weekend would just drive you nuts.
Its 1 thing if someone moves into near an established facility, but when you try and throw 1 in within 300m of at least 6 houses, and many more in the surrounding area, you're not going to win many friends.

Would love to know if Bruce is doing this for the good of the racing world or if its going to be attached to his file for his next round in court trying to get a permit for his little money spinner.

I signed it anyway, regardless of his intent, we need to fight to be able to keep some rights to enjoy our chosen hobbies and sports.
