you could re plate it and sell it off..?

I have been offered GT compliance plates and strut toweres before

The parts alone are worth more than the average car too.

Hopefully it gets found.

jeez days like this make you think what this world has come to. surely u would have an alarm or some form of security/siren in the building. big job to move 3 or so cars to get to the particular one. i recon this car will show up 20 years from now.. found in one of those barn yard finds. with a collection of other stolen+ highly priced cars.

I don't think ANY car thief think's about how the person who they stole it off is going to feel, so this car is no different. :

In practical terms a GOOD acurate GT replica will hold as much value to a thief in spare parts value as a genuine GT or even a HO..

Geezus!! I hope the thieves are caught and strung up!!

The last one stolen in Perth got recovered, mainly because word got around the car scene so quickly the thieves were stuck with a car they couldn't move so they abandoned it. Happy owner got it back with no damage. Hopefully the same outcome will occurr.

I bet the LS1 boys are ****ed, shifted a $100,000 monaro to get to the falcon :P

If it was an inside job or an attempt by the owner to claim insurance on it, they'll get caught

If you notes the time gap between my original post and my second post.

Trust ME> they needed to know ALLOT more than just that the car was there, there is allot more to this, that's all I will say about it.

Hahaha, And what about the Honda forums, they moved an Odyssey aswell?
How could they move so many cars and a forklift without anyone noticing while they did it?
And to have it behind a roller door with just a padlock, just silly IMO.
Sounds a tad fishy to me...

Geez, I was absolutely ****ed having my VQ Statesman nicked oh so many years ago. I can only imagine the rage of the HOey owner.

Hopefully they'll recover it, I can't imagine that it'll be an easy car to shift.

The owner was on the radio here. He said yes the car was insured but not for anywhere near the $600ks it was worth. Probably already in a crate miles away by now. They knew exactly what they were after so they will probably already have a home for it. Its not the sort of car you would pinch for a joy ride. Cant imagine moving a stretched Roller Limo out the way would be too easy.

Shannons Auctions havent sold a GTHO for more than 500k ever,

They sold an XW GTHO for 230k not long ago, and have 2 sitting in the yard for under 300k, They also have an XY GTHO passed in at 500k recently..

If i had a phrase 3 theres no way on earth i would have one sitting in a panel beaters for a period of time unlesss they had other million dollar cars there with the proper insurance cover and high tech security (not relying on fork lifts blocking doors)
To have one of these cars without a quicktrack style alarm isnt wise either, its like they wanted it to disappear
