My limit is one drink and even then I wait awhile before driving. Prefer it if it was none! I have 2 sons - 20 and 12 and if they ever got behind the wheel after they had been drinking..I would definately kick their butts!! I think the post from Falcon coupe says it all..

So is this going to be used in the next DECA open day to promote the “so called” hidden number of drink drivers, or given to those tools at AAMI for their next media stunt?

Here’s a few more thread ideas for you, Trev.

Have you ever exited your vehicle to assault another driver?
Have you ever given another driver the “bird”?
Have you ever accelerated when someone is trying to overtake?
Have you ever eaten a hamburger while driving?
Have you ever received fellatio while driving?
Have you ever had sexual intercourse while driving?
Have you ever accelerated from a set of lights to feel the rush?
Have you ever cheated on your tax return, then driven home from your tax agent?
Have you ever accelerated after passing a speed camera?
Have you ever stopped a heavy vehicle on a freeway to take a leak?
Have you ever accelerated through a yellow light when you could have stopped?
Have you ever driven home drunk because you were too ****ed to walk?
Have you ever put an incorrect entry into an authorised log book?
Have you ever let your big K&S banger go to 110 kph down a hill?

I certainly hope not, DECA are my oposition, I haven't worked for them for years.

I certainly wouldn't be doing them any favours I can assure you. :togo:

No hidden agenda's here, just curious. I won't say I won't use the numbers, but mainly curious.

Why is everyone riding Big Trev so hard??

He is asking a question about something which is an absolute safety issue - he is not trying to get everyone to condone it.

Just answer yes or no.

On my Ps...after the Kangas V Hawks final this year, went to pizza shop in East Richmond and had a beer while there. Caught train home and drove friend home, probably with a minute amount of stuff in the system. I was crapping myself the entire time, but fortunately, no heat around.

I actually forgot that I even had a drink.

It also happened once while on my Ls.

As before, forgot I had even had a drink. No effect.

My friend drinks with workmates every Friday and drives home pretty sozzled, even after the train trip.

He says, "If I'm caught, I won't fight it because I know I deserve it."

BUT personally, have I driven home while drunk? No, but I have had alcohol in the system.

Drink driving is the thing I'm most worried about I've never driven with alcohol in my system.

Well except for when on my cousins farm and we go out shooting drunk with the toyota hilux on private property

Thanks 05Mk11Futura for your support, I actually did ask people twice to not comment, just fill in the poll, but. . . .

I think some people sit behind a computer screen far too much and have stopped relating to the real world and have started developing their own conspiracy theories. I think there are some that ought to get out more. :

I refuse to drive even after one or two drinks unless I wait and hour or more inbetween. If my friends and I go out I offer to be the designated driver. I like to know I'm going to make it home.

One thing that amazes me is how Drunk drivers are treated by politicians. Hoons get their cars impounded on the first offence (in VIC & NSW) for the first offence and "hooning" is a opinion of a cop without any way to measure the offence, except their word. Yet a drunk driver can offend countless times and usually after 6-10 time they are caught, they might see jail. Their offence can be measured by their PCA reading, yet they do not get their car confiscated.
It just says to me that no government gives a toss about us road users, so it is each for themselves out on the road.

That is a good valid point, and one that I hadn't considered

If i think back to 17 or 18 years old I have trouble thinking of friends who have not done it, most on more occasions than i can count. A whole group of mates from one particular school all lost their licenses at least once. Wasnt a good thing. One guy got pinged and even asked if he could finish his beer before he got out of the car.
I do alot of driving ate at night, and always assume there is a drunk around the next corner as a safety thing.
Im surprised, and slightly reassured, at how many people have voted no

How the hell did you get off? Thought that it would be a pretty straight forward loss of licence.

Canberra rules are pretty harsh - instant disqualification and court appearance isnt it.

NSW is alot more laid back - IIRC you can still drive up until the court appearance.

I reckon you should be able to pass your driving test at say 0.8 and then you get a 0.8 licence. 1.2 etc and so on.

I've never done it, but my dad used to do it all the time. Even with us kids in the car. I'd never dream of ever doing anything like this, especially with your family in the car.

Dad learn't an expensive lesson a number of years ago. It didn't deter him, he still does it. Mum and dad had just bought a brand new Magna Elite (back then, top of the line with everything), and while we live 10 minute walk from the pub, dad dropped into the pub for a few after work. Late that night mum gets a knock at the door to say dad had been in an accident, wrote off the new car, but he was ok. He was 2-3 times the legal limit. Insurance wouldn't pay because of his state, so he was left with a wreck. The smash repairer bought it off dad and paid out most of the loan.

So anyway, with no car, he needed to get to work, so he started to use my car. I had hoped he learn't a lesson, but no more than a week after, the old man got breathalised driving my car, and he was over limit again. The only saving grace for me is that my car had a leak in the filler hose for the petrol tank, so you could never put more than 1/2 tank in before it would leak. Dad was having to put fuel in the car every couple of days. He soon got sick of that and bought himself an old bomb to get to and from work in. The magistrate took pity on him because he needed the car to get to work. So he cautioned and fined him.

Why people think it's cool to drink drive, no idea at all.

i can honestly say i never have and never intend to! i've seen the effects of drink driving and i seriously pi$$e$ me that people think it's cool. to me drink driving is like waving around a loaded gun...it might not go off this time, but it will sometime.

besides, how hard is it to get a taxi or walk home?
